FlavaEvolution is a most uncommon jazz quartet. With just 3 horns and bass (no piano or drums) they are bringing something altogether fresh to the Pioneer Valley, creating a sound that crosses a chamber string ensemble with modern jazz, 1970's soul and beautiful balladry. All 4 of the players in FlavaEvolution are either UMass Amherst music graduates or current students there, and 3 of them also hail from Northampton's hottest jazz/soul ensemble the Leah Randazzo Group (voted best jazz by the Valley Advocate readers' poll for the last 3 years). FlavaEvolution is a truly versatile group, able to perform for virtually any event or in any venue.
FlavaEvolution is currently available for club dates, weddings (ceremonies and reception/cocktails), private parties/events, music festivals, jazz education clinics, and recording sessions.
