Sounds Like GRAVITY CALLING

what a great album...they are a talent!...Alison Wenham (CEO, AIM).
...Glastonbury's macabre funsters are at the top of their game ... great writing...
Music Week
...music hall punks enlist Rat Scabies and go rock! ... like a more ramshackle Madness or a punk era Elton John! ...
Uncut
...the best thing I've heard all year.
Rat Scabies - Mojo.
... Stunning. This man's songs are contagious! ...www.mickmercer.com. Album of the Year.
... Flipron hint at both Madness's Everyman lyrics and Ray Davies' whimsicality.
Q
... a brilliantly upbeat collection of musical dolly mixtures that instantly lifts any doom and gloom in a way that few new albums can accomplish.
Belfast Telegraph. 5/5 CD of the Week
...their third and best album to date. Hail the kings of zombie pop.
www.artrocker.tv
...mad as wasps yet brilliant at the same time.
www.getreadytorock.com
... a damn near perfect record.
www.musicomh.com
...Fantastic. With lyrics to die for and music to live for, Flipron get it absolutely spot-on, nailed, done-and-dusted.

BISCUITS FOR CERBERUS

the best record of 2006.
Alison Wenham (CEO, AIM) in Music Week.
Flipron could become the house band on the ghost ship in the next instalment of Pirates of the Caribbean. Someone tell Johnny Depp.
The Independent
woozy bohemian pop massacre...brilliant but frankly unclassifiable.
Daily Telegraph
in 1972 this would have been seen as eccentricity of the highest order - in 2006 they might as well sticker this record with "Don't buy this - it's a bit mad." Good work.
Classic Rock.
a recipe of psychadelic instrumentation and fairytale-like lyrical rhymes leave a strangely addictive taste in the mouth. an increasingly infectious listen.
Music Week
if Syd Barrett were still alive, he'd probably be in this band.
www.theirishworld.com
a refreshingly mind-expanding experience with tunes that stick in your head like Velcro on a particularly well-made pair of trainers.
www.soundsxp.com.
the best wordsmith in the UK...immerse yourself in their world and celebrate a true national treasure.
www.mickmercer.com
the album that Paul McCartney might have made if Linda had let him stay on acid.
www.unpeeled.co.uk
one thing's for sure, there won't be anything like this in your music collection.
www.gigwise.com
mixing Hanna Barbera with Tim Burton, you'll struggle to find a band as original and fascinating as Flipron.
www.musicomh.com
an outstanding piece of work by a band truly unafraid of the unconventional.
www.neonbuzz.net
perhaps the first truly eccentric figures of the 21st century.
www.classicrocksociety.net
this is a fabulous record...essential listening.

FANCY BLUES AND RUSTIQUE NOVELTIES

its a treat to encounter a genuinely uncategorisable group.
Charles Shaar Murray - The Observer Music Monthly 4/5
wonderful, a mini-masterpiece, like Madness produced by Joe Meek. Flipron are one of those bands that I cannot believe are not blasting out of radios and appearing on Top of the Pops and Popworld. Heaven knows, the whole music scene would be a much brighter and interesting place if they were.
www.musicomh.com
Tom Waits doubtless has this album on his iPod.
www.robotfist.com
a modern Alex Harvey, get this now, its stunning.
www.mickmercer.com
like The Auteurs meets The Small Faces, a seriously funny record full of wicked tricks.
www.playlouder.com
I love this album, the songs are great... go out and buy it.
www.thebeatsurrender.co.uk
brilliant! you want tunes, you got tunes, there's a disregard for creative limits going on here.
www.artrocker.com
a joyous realisation that being eclectic does not necessarily involve a pretentious pre-planned approach to music-making.
www.angryape.com
all in all the most creative collection of enigmatic delights I have heard this side of Halloween.
www.spillonline.com
that rarest of things, an inspired pop record with haunting yet witty lyrics. This is a marvellous album.
www.themindsconstruction.com
truly quite a find, which all discerning music fans need to hear.

   About FLIPRON
We are FLIPRON. We love old records & new records. We love all sorts of music by all sorts of people. This gets all mixed up & rearranged inside our Flipron-shaped brains and comes out again into our own music. We’ve been playing together a few years and made some records for the wonderful
Tiny Dog label.
Our albums are:
Gravity Calling 2008 Biscuits For Cerberus 2006 Fancy Blues & Rustique Novelties (2004)
We’ve been very lucky to have had some wonderful reviews of these albums, which can be read in the ‘Sounds Like’ section of our profile.
They are available in good record shops, the usual online retailers, on major download sites, but if you buy them direct from the record label, this makes us happiest of all. You can buy them and some of our singles, each dripping with exclusive B-sides, at....

Walk/Don't walk sign

No, I don't think it's "hopelessly naive" of you to be excited about seeing the "walk/do not walk" signs in NY. I think it's completely endearing . It's all about the little things:) I'm so used to seeing them... but it's really quite comical that we would need a sign to tell us to cross the street at all, haha. You might really enjoy the crossing lights in Japan... When we lived there a couple of years ago we found it very interesting that an electronic melody accompanied the lights as you walked across the street, haha.  I remember a friend who was to be moving back Stateside & had lived in Japan for 9 years saying... as she was becoming nostalgic, "I'm really going to miss that music. Now I will actually have to pay attention when I cross the street."
