Foxfire first emerged as the indie rock collective Foxfire Forest in 2005 and released a self-titled album in 2006. Garnering much attention from the local Toronto scene for their energetic live shows and ambitious set up, Foxfire Forest unfortunately ran its course in 2008 and emerged as a tighter, smaller band: Foxfire. After this transition, the group settled into a lineup of six young Toronto musicians; Alex Ralph, Anna Edwards, Neil Rankin, Hannah Krapvinsky, Joseph J. Elaschuk and Sean Dunal. Along with this final lineup change, the instrumentation also took on new facets, fully reflecting the band's influences: disco, motown and rock and roll. Their exciting live shows have won over many hearts, seeing them open for local and international acts including MGMT, Yeasayer, The Whip and Land of talk. Foxfire have released two singles in the past year: "Change the Future" in August 2008 followed by "Love is not Enough" in April 2009. Both were exclusively available on a limited run of 100 CDr alongside several demos.
The group is now working on recording a debut LP to be released fall 2009 with plans to tour North America after its completion.
Great mention of The Garrison set in Now Magazine 'The evening wrapped with fun sets by Foxfire, who are prepping to record an album of delectable disco jams with Brian Borcherdt in December'

That was a great set at the Steam Whistle Brewery. Funky, futuristic, embracing a freewheeling spirit and integrating influences from disco, glam-pop, to straight-up rock and roll. Conjuring images of pulse-driven dance-music, the sound is also rock-oriented, managing to give rock-disco a unique spin, or rather, a Toronto spin. Fronted by dual vocalists that play to the crowd, Foxfire is a noteworthy live act that promises plenty of dancefloor energy.

A live-show of heavy-duty proportions, a high-energy boundary-crossing window into music that rocks sonically with a brazen heart and voluminous punch. Endearing dance gems.
