Francesca's Brother is the brainchild of Dave MacAaron, a Singer/Songwriter/musician from NYC.
Mack is a classically trained vocalist and multi-instrumentalist who has wide and varied influences and is difficult to pigeonhole genre-wise. Growing up in a wonderful and supportive artistic enviornment where all family members were performers has certainly given him the inspiration to be creative.
Being an "80's kid", he definitely has his share of those influences (which he wears proudly on the sleeves of one of his old puffy shirts!) but also displays some classic rock moves as well as a bit of a 90's singer/songwriter/folky vibe. Dave previously was the lead singer for Temple 23, a well known local NYC band back in the 90's. He eventually left Temple to pursue his own projects. He has performed in clubs all over NYC as well as in LA and even Tokyo.
While listening to Francesca's Brother can be a bit of a journey through song genres, the one common denominator in FranBro's music is the smooth, powerful and melodic vocals. With generous assistance by Joanna Spencer and Francesca herself, (a well know staple of the NYC music scene) Mack has in the past collaborated with Jed Gore of Jonas Grumby and Sully of NYC's famous "The Creamsicles".
Many of Mr. MacAaron's songs are auto-biographical so there is a true, genuine feeling to the tunes.
