   About fraud
Fraud is the brainchild of multi instru-mentalist james allsopp and drummer tim giles and features the daemonic antics of guitar antichrist stian westerhus, the frankly sick drumming of ben reynolds and the keyboard melting stylings of fraudulent german philip hochstratte. their music combines ruthlessly trimmed funk, electronic soundscapes and abbatoire improv with a cut and paste approch to structure. they have been tipped as a band to watch out for (particularly on a dark night in a back alley) by birmingham and cheltenham artistic director tony dudley-evans in jazz uk magazine and have been featured in the taking off section of jazzwise magazine. since they formed in may 2005 they have played all over london for no money and were part of the jerwood rising stars programme at the 2006 cheltenham jazz festival and have been featured on bbc radio 3's jazz on 3 programme. The tracks on the site are from their debut album "Fraud" which is available from www.fraudmusic.co.uk and which has been nominated for a BBC Jazz Award for album of the year

The Other Morning Call

Apr 11 2009 3:07 PM

Hi ('x')/ -CONNICHIWA (こんにちは)-

Please let me introduce about my new track, "Visions in the Sky".

・・・・・・・・・・

・This track freely changes the tempo, like BPM 170 → 40 → 190 → (stacks 2 or 4) → 170 → 40.

・The main melody(4/4 rythum) is like classic music's one, but the low part(3/4 rythum) is like jazz-pop's one.

・In the latter half, this track becomes spacy, like 80's progressive hard rock・・・but I only used a piano sound. It will show you what are "visions". Raindrops, comets, clouds・・・Every image will be right.

・・・・・・・・・

Please give me your Impressions!

[Hi]

Please let me take your spaces
・・・I made a new track called "A Order in Ripples".

・Finally this track reachs "Chopin meets Hard Rock", with only piano & drums.

・I used 3/4 time & 7/8 time besides 4/4 time in this track, but I tried not to be a show-off man
・・・so maybe you don't notice.

・This track starts with 170 BPM, but it slowly accelerates & finally it reachs over 220 BPM.

・This track contains two exact oppsites・・・one is very complicated but another is very simple.

・This track is very short, only 2.07 minutes.

・The name of this track briefly means its characteristic. At the end of this track, the order comes out. What's "A Order in Ripples"? You will easilly find the answer.

Maybe it rouses Bashou's famous Haiku, "Fulu-ike ya (古池や) …".

Let me know your impressions if you have time ('x')ノシ
