Fredy Studer founded a new band which has no name yet. But the bandmembers are: FREDY STUDER: drums, percussion JOANA ADERI: electronics, voice JOY FREMPONG: voice, samples JOHN EDWARDS: double-bass DANIEL SAILER: double-bass, electronics. The first concert of this new band will take place on Saturday, April 12 at "Moods" in Zurich, Switzerland.

BIOGRAPHY
Fredy Studer was born in Lucerne (Switzerland), where he still resides. He is a selftaught
drummer and percussionist. Since the early seventies he has performed as a freelancer with
musicians ranging from "A", such as Abercrombie, to "Z", such as Zorn.
Over the past thirty years, Studer has worked with many different bands and projects. He has given concerts and workshops, made radio and television recordings, and composed music for
dance, theatre and film troughout Europe, Africa, Japan, South America, the Caribbean, Taiwan,
India, Russia, the United States and Canada. Numerous prizes and honours.
Current groups and projects are (beside others) the since 1990 existing hardcore chambermusic
trio "Koch-Schütz-Studer" (with Hans Koch and Martin Schütz), the Jimi Hendrix Project with Erika Stucky, Christy Doran and Jamaaladeen Tacuma, the duo with Pierre Favre and the percussion-trio
"Schulkowsky-Studer-Baron" (with Robyn Schulkowsky and Joey Baron).
Fredy Studer was one of the first drummers who incorporated open improvisation as well as straight beats into his style. He was named "... one of the most innovative drummers in Europe ..." by "Drums & Percussion" magazine. His work has been recorded on more than 60 CDs
and LPs.
