Kim - Mandolin/Bouzouki,and B/Vocals & Harry - Flute,and Whistle played @ Tams O"Shanters last week (Sept. 12th 2009),and we have been practicing together for the last few weeks,and it has been great,and now will join Freespirit,and play,and even perhaps do some recording.
David Galien - B/Vocals,Bouzouki,Mandolin,and Hurdx Gurdy musician who lives in Vienna has giged with Freespirit,and will continue to.I would like to welcome David to Freespirit,we are certainly Folkin" "n" Rollin" with David.

Liz Narey - Guitar,Mandolin,and B/Vocals is from Haworth in West Yorkshire,and has come to Graham"s aid,when Edward (Teddy) disapeared,abandomed the Freespirit ship with the hire car in Scotland,after Pivo,Pivo,cancelled the gig,when we arrived.Liz came to see Freespirit when they played @ Wuthering Heights Inn in Stanbury Haworth,and came up to Scotland to play with Graham,and is playing the rest of the tour.We have been like brother & Sister since meeting,a fantastic time playing gigs together.I"m sure in the future when Freespirit comes again on tour,Liz will be there again.

Freespirit Tour and Gigs 2007 - 2008 that have gone!!
There is a great tradition, enjoyed by people of many different faiths and cultures, to gather at the Hill of Tara and to celebrate the Summer Solstice. This year, more than any other year, due to the M3 motorway crisis, we must send out a loud call for friends to come to her defence.
Freespirit was asked to play on the 22nd June 2007,and after such a great gig,Freespirit was asked to play the Saturday 23rd June 2007 also.People said we were better the Saturday night.

We Freespirit have played to 500 people in Switzerland (2005) and 20 people down the local pub.We have played as a duo or as a full band,we do it all.We will play anywhere at anytime......
Graham has been playing music for almost 20 years,playing on the streets all over 38 European Countries,and playing in the Singer/Songwriter clubs in West London.Then he moved to Graz in Austria.He met other musicians,and has made several bands/projects.Has giged in Many Countries in Europe including Germany,Holland,Czech Republic,Austria,Turkey, Croatia,Bosnia,Ireland U.K. and even N. Ireland.
Graham has made 4 solo albums,about love,war,travelling,destruction of the North American Indians,Ireland,The Great Hungar in 1845 - 1849.Graham has had much inspiration from many things,like Ireland (Spiddal Town , Staring At The Sea , Rain In Ireland and Sligo Town),and reading books like "The Great Hunger",by Cecil Woodman-Smith,(No Potatoes)and "The Mist Of Avalon" by Marion Zimmer Bradly (I"m Feeling Free).From Mike Scott of The Waterboys,who is Graham"s favourite band.Travelling all over Europe is a big inspiration.(Spring Is Coming,Road To Nowhere,and Freeworld).
Since 2003 when Freespirit started,with Graham (Vocal,12 String Guitar Mandolin,Bouzouki,Mouth Harmonica). Freespirit has had many musicians,we have been on the road in Austria,Switzerland (2005),Ireland(2006,2007),Germany(2006,2007),Holland (2006),Croatia (2007) and next year (2008) to U.K. (February) Germany (April) Ireland (July),and (August) U.K. again!! and Germany again in (October). I"m planning now a U.K. tour in (April/May 2009).
After a few violin players David joined Freespirit in October 2003,and now 4 years later in the same month he has left to do his own music projects,although he said "He be back sometime,maybe having a years brake".
Together in 2004 Freespirit made the first Freespirit cd,"Communicate Please",with 19 songs mainly about Ireland and travelling.
Josephine,started being the driver,and selling the merchandise,in 2005,and our first tour out of Austria to Switzerland.Josephine started to learn the Bass Guitar,and picked up on the Mandolin,and by the January Germany Tour 2007,had mastered the bass to play her first Tour,and she also played Mandolin on our 2nd Ireland Tour of that year. Now at the moment plays mostly Bouzouki,because Graham thinks it fits more with Freespirit than the Bass Guitar,especially if there are no drums.
In 2006 Freespirit met Rüdiger,who started out playing Mandolin,Mandola,but soon felt he wanted to play drums. Rüdiger joined the September Germany and Holland Tour 2006 playing some drums.Freespirit now had a full band,but because of family commitment Rüdiger left,and David,Joey and Graham had to do the January Germany 2007 alone.
In the past on Tour in Ireland and Germany,Freespirit have met other musicians,like Dave,who we met in Ireland in Dublin,who plays Banjo,Mandolin,and Guitar,and he will be joining us on our U.K Tour in February,and also joined us on the 3 weeks tour in Ireland - July 2008,and U.K 4 week Tour in - August 2008.
Also there has been Seanin who joined us on the Germany Tour in April 2008 for some gigs,playing Mandolin.We had much fun.
The Future of Freespirit

Well as I said before David has left,and we have soldiered on the best we can without a genius on the violin.Lou and Symbella were not suitable,and now Morris seems that he doesn"t want to play drums in Freespirit,although like me has now moved into Vienna.But this basically leaves Josephine and I in Austria,and when we play in U.K. or Ireland Dave,and maybe Seanin in Germany.Josephine has just started another job,and seems that Josephine will stop playing with Freespirit shortly.
But it doesn"t mean that Freespirit is just me "Graham",I"ve contacted a few people,friends,and Rüdiger,who played back in 2006 wants to play again,when he has sorted some things out in his life.So we"ll see what happens.I"m always meeting other musicians,so at the moment Freespirit again could be a duo,or like the last gigs,Toni & Rubina of Living Läche from Vienna have joined Freespirit,as they both have recorded some instruments like Banjo,Drums,Flute and Mandolin on the NEW Freespirit cd,which is being recorded @ Toni"s studio,and he is mixing,and mastering it.

Well i have met most people in the music buisiness ,as a musician i find myself very nosey at gigs,and want to meet the so called famous people!!!! But a better question would be "who would you want to play a gig with and support" well of coarse "The Waterboys",but since 2002 i have been trying to support "New Model Army" and this year we Freespirit almost were going to support "The Levellers"but The Levellers gig was cancelled. These are ma dreams,maybe one day they will become true!! nothing is impossible in this world.I was on stage with Wayne Hussey of "The Mission 2 times once in Graz in Austria,and the other time was in Holland.....hey MR Pleasant!!! When i was living in Graz "The Frames" came to do a gig,and after we all with the band went to the fountain,and we were singing "Pagan Place" with Glen... song from "The Waterboys" great time....
Making Folk events all over Austria since 2003,its getting bigger,and bigger with more events,and we are making a Folk Acoustic Revolution Cd Compilation,and the 1st Wien Open Air Folk Festival on July 11th & 12th 2009.

funny ...met Justin Sullivan in the Cafe de Spuyt yesterday...we just did our sunday session gig in cafe de Fles and we always go there for a way home drink...saying to him "oi what you doing in ere ..shit I cant go anywhere for a quiet drink after a show for a quite beer without fans turning up...ever since I played harp in Vienna.....you followed us here or what...what you played as well..where...ah melkweg..ach bloody dive ..." we had a laugh.
