What the Roar Club say about us:
"FRUITION :They have choruses that walk round on ladders (that BIG), and melodies that are soaked in a mixture of super-strength prozac & Sunny D."
Bedford Esquires:
Fruition have supported, and at times outshone, some quality bands this year. By sheer hard work and practice they have crafted and are perfecting their glorious uplifting sounds. They are promoting their just released, brand spanking new, EP entitled “Black Mariah” which is excellent tonight. It’s a perfect pop song very much like the rest of their hugely enjoyable nine song set.
Another Esquires review:
Main support were Fruition who were last seen here supporting The Rifles. They were richly entertaining that night and once again they don't disappoint. It's vibrant and bouncy sing-a-long pop-punk from the opening 'All Over Again' to the last strains of 'I've Got to Break Free' from the excellent 'Cavin' In', all brought to life by Peter Dayer-Smith's taut vocals and solid support from the rest of the band. Fruition are becoming a welcome sight at Esquires.
Here is a review of the single from Quadrophenia Fanzine
Review: Ticking Away
I first saw Fruition at the Rhythm Factory a while back and I must confess Ive been hooked ever since. Their first eagerly awaited single, Ticking Away is a good indication as to why.
The addiction begins from the first drum roll. A heavy, non-nonsense intro soon makes way for an uplifting switch and a change of pace; a trademark of previous dance floor fillers the boys have produced. But theres more beef to this one, and I can honestly say this is the best vocal Ive heard from their front man. You can tell hes stepped it up a gear for this one.
Lyrically, its pure and simple. Never has the phrase no good crying over spilt milk been complimented more adequately and made more sense than tonight, with this infectious lead guitar and bass line to back it up. It all makes sense!
It wont be long before youll have a smile on your face, as the lead guitar spirals off into the clouds, just bouncing you effortlessly along on a spirited crest, right before the vocals kick in once more you take you round and round again. Like a fairground ride thats out of control.
Its rare for a band these days to dare to put out a B-Side of such high quality as Sinclair, a track they could have easily stuck on the A-side a few months down the line. A lesser band would have happily tucked this one away for when the writers block set in! Not Fruition. To me, that shows the band are not likely to run out of steam or burn out anytime soon.
To see this one live is to be believed! The initial riff encapsulates the happiness and innocence these boys love to give to their crowds, and immediately puts the rush back in your blood.
Again, the lyrics are nailed home impeccably by their singer, whos vocals almost sound wrapped up in the whole frenzy this song creates. Its a ramshackle beauty of epic proportions!
The C-side concludes in a perfect finale to the single. Continuing the relentless onslaught of energy created by its predecessors, Cavin In is a rip-rolling roar of a finish. A proper dance floor destroyer, this one plays a key part in their current live set.
If you havent heard this debut offering from Fruition, I strongly suggest you pick one up as a matter of urgency!
Their intense work-rate and genuine talent are beginning to bear fruit (as their name would suggest!) Dont miss out.
Having recently supported The View, Look See Proof, The Runners, Larrikin Love, The Rifles, The Modern and The Holloways, Fruition are staging a revolution, taking great pleasure in giving their music to the masses. They hit the stage with energy and always entertain. They all hail from a little village called Pirton and this all add to the unique style the boys possess.
They have worked hard to creating their own sound influenced by rather than sounding like the bands that have inspired the individual members. They work hard in the studio to make the tunes released give people the same energy they feel at the live shows. Not content with what they have got they are going out to grab everyone and get them jumping.
New Single is on the way and will be released on Talk Of The Town Records in spring 2008. It has been produced by Get Cape, Wear Cape, Fly and Good Shoes producers Adam Menchkowski and Andy Theakston. It will herald a new set of songs that will feature on an album that is in the making at the moment.
There will be new songs up on the myspace very soon to whet your appetite.
