Funk the System is a spinning project with djs Alquimix ,Wash and Chicco Aquino
Their sound originates from Funk, and introduces new resonant experiences with swinging beats, fat bass lines and effects, smooth textures and electronic atmospheres. Their harmonies and melodic lines evolve dynamically through the set, characterized by an intense, infectious, and always solid presentation.
The Crew takes on the organic origins of Rare Grooves, Old School, Brazilian Grooves, Jazz, Hip Hop and Soul of 70's, 80's and 90's, and mixes it with new electronic sounds. Their style truly encompasses the history of Funk, and advances the evolution of the sound. New Funk, Disco, Boogie, Trip-hop, Acid Jazz, Breaks, and other rhythms directly influence the roots of Groove.
The eclectic styles of the djs are the perfect setting for many different types of music and art festivals and events, outdoors parties on the beach, and at clubs and lounges.
All dj's have years of experience with the production and organization of events and parties. Now, they produce a monthly event (Super Jam). With djs from Brazil and others countries of the world. (www.myspace.com/superjambr)
Alquimix, a Sao Paulo native, has organized "Alquimias Musicais ", "Electric Garden", and most recently, "Groove Brasilis", a festival in Barcelona. He has also worked as a stage manager at several music festivals, and has produced many events from scratch, including booking dj's. Alquimix also is a Poet, singing his work with the pen name "Ins_pirado". He has always been fascinated with culture and art, and has proven to have a true connection with music.
Wash is from Brasilia and is co-founder of the dj collective "Butter Music" (www.buttermusic.com.br), a growing music project gaining recognition quickly across the globe. This collective's contagious beats have appeared in line-ups at several electronic music festivals around the world, and at numerous parties and clubs. At São Paulo he has produced another weekly event at the same Bar that host Super Jam, and today plays in the capital and others states.
DJ Chicco Aquino, 32 years old, born in Brasília, capital of Brazil. Performing in the musical scene since 1996 and playing as DJ since 2002, the bass player, beat producer, culture promoter and graphic designer Chicco Aquino shows in your dj set the universal breakz. From organic grooves to electronic your set goes around the world beats always having the look to the new kinds of black and afro music. Projects envolved; PURORITMO (Festival that Promotes Health, Ecology, Music and Art, www.puroritmo.org.br), MISTURA FINA (show with top djs), MAKOSSA (Black Music Guetto Party), PIRAMIDI (www.myspace.com/piramidi, band formed with brazilian and african music players).

Funk the System é um projeto de discotecagem dos djs Alquimix , Wash e Chicco Aquino
O Som circula livre pelas diversas ramificações do Funk, propondo novas experiências sonoras com beats swingados, bass lines encorpados, naipes de metais vibrantes, efeitos, timbres, texturas e atmosferas eletrônicas. As cores, harmonias e linhas melódicas transformam-se dinamicamente e evoluem durante o set, o que caracteriza uma apresentação fluída, intensa, contagiante e refinada.
Os djs utilizam-se das origens orgânicas do Rare Grooves, Old School, Grooves Brazucas, Jazz, Hip hop e Soul dos 70..s, 80..s e 90..s, e avançam na história Funk até atingir a evolução atual das novas vertentes eletrônicas do estilo chegando ao New Funk, Disco, Boogie, Trip hop, Acid Jazz, Breaks, ritmos diretamente influenciados pelas raízes do Groove.
Todos eles acumulam uma vasta experiência na bagagem de apresentações para os mais diversos públicos e circuitos em Festivais de Música e Arte, Festas, Eventos, Praias, Clubs e Lounges nas principais cidades do Brasil e da Europa.
Também possuem experiência na área de idealização e produção de eventos. Hoje produzem um evento mensal chamado Super Jam, trazendo djs do Brasil e outros países. (www.myspace.com/superjambr)
Alquimix, natural de São Paulo, produziu “Alquimias Musicais”, “Jardim Elétrico” e “Groove Brasilis” esta última realizada em Barcelona. Já formulou Line-ups e trabalhou de Stage maneger em muitos festivais de música, tendo experiência como produtor dos mais variados eventos, sempre ligados à área de Cultura e Arte. Alquimix também é Poeta e assina seu trabalho com o heterônimo de “Inspirado”.
Wash é de Brasília e co-fundador do coletivo de djs “Butter Music” (www.buttermusic.com.br). Já se apresentou em diversos festivais de música eletrônica, festas e clubs pelo país. Em São Paulo já produziu outro evento semanal no Bar onde acontece a Super Jam e se apresenta em clubs da capital e em outros estados.
Participando da cena musical brasiliense desde 1996 e atuando como DJ desde 2002, o músico, produtor e DJ Chicco Aquino apresenta em seu set a música negra universal. Funky Breakz, Hip Hop, Afro-beat, Rare Grooves são os estilos mais presentes em suas apresentações que também contam com elementos da música brasileira e do DanceHall (Reggae, Dub e Ragga). Atento à evolução musical Chicco procura mesclar suas influências com versões atualizadas, remixes de outros DJ’s e produções próprias. “Valorizo muito no meu set linhas de baixo e batidas pulsantes, orgânicas e eletrônicas, sobretudo os sons contemporâneos de influência urbana e africana”. Chicco Aquino é dj residente e produtor do Festival PURORITMO e das festas MAKOSSA e MISTURA FINA.
