   About Gingergreen

Gingergreen have been playing together since we all met for the first time at a Halloween party in Edinburgh in 2000. To start with we just played our guitars and bass and sang a lot. Then we discovered that corner tucked away at the back of the music shop where they keep all the little things that make funny noises, and since then we've been getting a bit carried away.

Over the years we have played at lots of places around Edinburgh, including the old Bongo Club, Whistle Binkies, Bannerman's, Subway, Medina, The Beanscene, the Cafe Royal, Cabaret Voltaire, the bandstand in Princes' Street Gardens, and in a field in Liberton, where we were second on the bill to a goose herding competition.

We have also played a lot at Edinburgh's open mic nights, especially Acoustic Underground (back when it was wedged under the stairs at Whistle Binkies), and Out Of The Bedroom (at the Waverley), and have been helped no end by all the nice folks that organise and frequent them. A few of our favourite singers and bands from the world of Edinburgh open mics and gigs have MySpace pages too: fuzzystar, Lindsay West, Flowers For Algernon and Scuff, for example.

And Kathryn has her own page too, where you can find out where she will next be playing in London and hear some of the fancy recordings of her fancy new songs.

Heylo,

I'm guessing you know and as such have already instructed lawyers.... but have you heard the latest Gomez single? (See The World).

It's got Quiet Traveller's Song written all over it! ... well at least the first few bars.

I think pop has maybe just eaten itself, or at least had a nibble at gingergreen?

that is all.

When can be expect the long awaited Gingergreen debut CD? Also, can I request that "Anaesthetic" and "Seek and you'll find" are both included on the tracklist. Hurry up guys! - You owe it to the fans who have supported you over the years, even in venues such as Subway Cowgate!

brilliant. you've single-handedly inspired me to take up the kazoo. it's going to be an interesting couple of months making an album with a rock and roll band and trying to get them to replace three guitars and a harp with kazoos, but we'll give it a go.

thanks for agreeing to be my friend. "embuddiment", as i believe it's known oop there.

Love the music! I was listening intently to 'Mess', a nice tune, and enjoyed the muted horn solo, and I began thinking.. the song would really do well with the addition of a female vocal section. Something like, "Sha Sha Sha Ooh".. it would really put the whole song over the top! :-)
Cheers
Jim
