i've been playing instruments for 25 years, at cafes, raves, dance performances, festivals, kindergartens, rainbow gatherings, burning man, etc. etc. lately i find that my favorite instrument is the voice, and that using some simple vocal improv techniques, i can facilitate a whole group of people singing all kinds of cool stuff. so i'm working on putting the music back into its place as a communal activity that is participatory and hopefully ecstatic. less performance, more celebration of life and the creative spirit. may we all rise together.
