Welcome to the official MySpace page for Glenn Tilbrook, singer, songwriter, solo artist and founder of Squeeze
Tilbrook first came to fame as founding member and one-half of the songwriting team behind Squeeze who wrote some of the most-loved songs of the last thirty years. They notched up Top Ten hits around the world with – “Cool For Cats,” “Up The Junction,” “Slap & Tickle,” “Pulling Mussels (From A Shell),” “Another Nail In My Heart,” “Tempted,” “Labelled With Love” and “Black Coffee In Bed.” Today’s newer artists, such as The Feeling, Kasabian, The View, Razorlight, Mark Ronson and Lily Allen have all sited Squeeze as a major influence.
In respect for their songwriting Glenn Tilbrook and Chris Difford have been honoured with two prestigious awards this year – the Ivor Novello Award for their “Outstanding Contribution to British Music” (presented by Mark Ronson) and the “Icon Award” (presented by Lily Allen) at the O2 Silver Clef Awards.
In 2007 the newly reformed Squeeze played sold-out shows in America and the UK. In summer 2008 they played at Womad, Beautiful Days and V Festivals in the UK and a nineteen-date American tour in September.
Tilbrook is also involved with the Love Hope Strength Foundation. In 2007 he trekked to the Base Camp on Mount Everest to raise money for a Cancer Hospital in Nepal. It also went in the Guinness Book of Records for the highest ever recorded gig on land. This year he will travel to Kilamanjaro on the 27th September – 9th October.
Thank you SO much for coming to Austin and for your gig at The Saxon Pub. I'm sure you could tell that EVERYONE was clearly having a rousing good time. This is the first time I had seen you solo - the other times were in Feb 1988 (City Coliseum - 10,000 Maniacs opened) , Aug 1992 (Back Room - 29 Palms opened) and Sept 2008 (La Zona Rosa - Fastball opened) when you toured with Squeeze. You're extremely funny and very personable and all who attended absolutely adore you. You may not remember when I met you backstage after your show at The Back Room - you were very nice to me and I still have my Babylon and On t-shirt that you and the other guys, Steve Nieve and Kevin Wilkerson signed, but I haven't worn it since because all the signatures were in ball point pen making the t-shirt impossible to wash. When I mentioned that I met you after your show at the Back Room, you said something about not letting so much time pass in coming to see you, but I attend your shows when I can. From now on, I'll take what we call "Emergency Concert Leave" when you come back to Austin. Thanks again for signing my Singles 45's and Under 1992 Tour shirt and for posing for a picture with me. See you next time you're in Austin.
I'm looking for Detroit area fans to contact me. Glenn hasn't been to our neck of the woods in a while and I'm hoping that if enough people contact me and he finds out that there is a waiting audience, he will be duly convinced to visit us in the Motor City.
Thank you thank you thank you for adding a Tucson show to your tour. We had so much fun meeting you last year and I can't believe the opportunity to see you perform solo at Club Congress!!! YOU ARE THE BEST!!! Cheers! denise

If you end up in Cleveland, and want something to do...play the Beachland Ballroom this fall! Then, you could swing down to the Southgate House in KY...you could add Columbus, Pittsburgh, and other fabulous locations around my neck of the woods...haha! Athens, Nelsonville (yes, Willie Nelson did a gig there in May, true story)...sound tempting? You know you want to (using old Jedi mind trick!)...
