About me:
WELCOME To GO_STAND! Hope you had a great time at SYG over the Queens B'day weekend. We'd love you to join as a friend if you have made a committment to GO - even if you haven't, you can get plenty of encouragement and ask heaps of questions for the UNOH crew, John Jensen and Marcus Curnow. GO_STAND is about making a committment to follow the one who leads us to the rough places, the unpopular places to stand in solidarity with our poor brothers and sisters. Here you'll find regular Blogs and Comments from UNOH Mission Workers as well as John 'The Rev' Jensen (a great UNOH Wild One). You can fire questions at them and get insights, things to pray for and stories about how they are Going and Standing as they follow Jesus. Join us - GO and make a STAND!

Who I'd like to meet:
Jackie Pullinger, Martin Luther King, Father Damien, St Francis, Dorothy Day, Jim Wallis, Tony Campolo, Shane Claiborne and the Psalters crew, (basically anyone who comes to UNOH's SURRENDER:07 Conference in July) All the teams and participants at SYG! and especially anyone has has risked it all for him - to follow his example and GO to the margins to STAND with the poor

We've now had 5 years of lies about 9/11, WMD's, and freedom. The real reasons were oil, profiteering, and fascism. Not just Bush, but the news media, most of congress, and all who remain silent. And now they'll use fear to quash dissent. It's nothing new -- it's been going on for ages. War, poverty, ecocide, arrogant bullying --they're all from greed and fear, which come from ignorance. ♥ But it's not too late -- we can still learn to make peace. Talk with people. Love, Eric

Thanks for the add go_stand!!

Achieving the Millennium Development Goal of eradicating extreme poverty and hunger is attainable!!

Please take four minutes and listen to Enough For Everyone, one of the five songs on my profile. When Enough For Everyone is available for download and my new CD, All That Matters is released in July 2007 I will make a donation to the Presbyterian Hunger Program of one dime for every song download and CD purchased.

Thanks for your passion for the poor and for your work in our common goal of alleviating hunger and eliminating its causes.

Many thanks & much peace,

Hey there. SOO bummed I missed SYG this year! I've heard such good feedback about it!
Also sounds like a lot of people were challenged to make a stand for Jesus! How awesome!
Glad to know that the Sacred Space continues to kick on and be a place where people can really connect with God during such a crazy weekend!
Blessings to you guys!

Thanks Marx for setting up the 'Shrine' Looks brilliant and I'm sure, made for a great space of contemplation about 'Going the distance' in the race of life!

I might put a whole newspaper in each shoe just to make sure I remember, or would that be a touch of overkill?

hi guys

was great to see so many at the weekend and to hang out and chat,

hope as you settle back into home and school life that you continue to go and stand and let that bit of scrunched up paper continue to niggle away

us Urban Seeders are looking fwd to working on the sacred space at State Youth Games again. so glad we are all finally going to attempt to do a bit better on the altar call thing....perhaps a truly alter(native) call. The go stand idea got us thinking about a SHOE SHRINE for sacred space....still dreaming it up but the idea is to have different peoples shoes and stories around a burning bush.....heaps of sand for footprints etc.
