this is the perfect record for contemplating the deeper mysteries of deep earth or deep space, or for contemplating nothing at all. Either way, Recommended. - theskyline.net
[T]here's a menacing, foreboding tone to the music, like it's a warning. It definitely paints some gorgeously sky-like imagery, to be sure, but Golden Cities aren't about pretty clouds drifting across the moon -- rather, this the sound of a looming, threatening storm, one that's likely to do a ton of damage before it moves on out to cripple some other community. - spacecityrock.com

Hakkımızda Golden Cities (Dec. 5th LOST IN SPACE FEST)
Golden Cities began when the opportunity arrived for longtime friends Marcus Gausepohl, Nathan Heskia and Lance Higdon to play music together. After releasing an EP as part of John Sears' Grey Ghost series in 2007, they released their self-titled debut album (recorded with Tambersauro's Jeff Price)in October 2008 on Esotype records.
With Nathan departed to Boston, the band recruited Brian Smyth to play guitar and Meghan Hendley to play keyboard and share vocal duties. After a two-week summer tour in 2009, Meghan departed the band to concentrate more fully on her other project, Solanae. The band has since continued as a trio, with Rehberg The Laptop assisting with drones and samples.
At present, the band is playing local and regional shows while writing songs for a second full-length album.
no shit, we played Manahattan last nite and i made the same comment, hopefully we'll never have to do THAT again, unless its at Bowery Ballroom or Madison Square Garden, hahaha!
Thanks so much for the add. We really hope you enjoyed what you heard. Please stay in touch, we are going to be recording a full length album with Backline Records next month and it should be finished up in late May or early June. We really appreciate what you have to share and hope to hear any thoughts you might have. Drop by anytime and say hi. With many thanks and much peace from Portland Oregon and The River Project
