GRAPEVINE@Bedfords,Norwich Still bathed in a warm musical glow after last night ! Generous and soulful performances which left us all feeling uplifted. 12 Kas 2009 tarihinde devamı
Hakkımda: GRAPEVINE is an exciting music club based in the heart of Norwich. The club exists to promote fresh, talented, sometimes unsigned or independent, singer-songwriters by giving them the opportunity to play in intimate, atmospheric surroundings to an attentive and enthusiastic listening audience.
GRAPEVINE is all about REAL music, and a grassroots approach to spreading the word about exciting new talent. Our nights are run by people who care passionately about music, and want to offer an alternative to the corporate hype and stadium gig mentality that too often seems to be overlooking the truly creative. All of which probably sounds far too serious ! So let's just say this : At a Grapevine night you can experience quality live music played straight from the heart in an intimate and welcoming environment. If you love music, you will feel right at home !
Each month, our audience is treated to an eclectic, carefully-chosen mix of styles performed by artists from all over the UK and even further afield. ( To date, we have featured artists from Norway, Ireland, Australia and the USA )
With the chance to enjoy a meal or light snack before settling back to soak up some top-quality music over a few drinks, you have the makings of the perfect laid-back musical evening, which has been a hit with both artists and audience members alike.
Grapevine nights are held in Bedfords Bar and Restaurant, a beautifully atmospheric Merchants Hall and Grade 1 listed building right in the heart of Norwich. An intimate, atmosphere is created, with audience members either seated at candlelit tables or on sofas, the playing area is decked out with fairy lights and low-key stage lighting, and sound is reinforced through a small but clear PA system. In short, we try to make it a professional but warm and friendly event !
The reaction from visiting artists, many of whom are visiting Norwich for the first time, has been reassuringly enthusiastic and positive, and we have witnessed some dazzling performances so far.
If you are interested to see who has played for us to date, then take a look at our photo gallery or the " Roll of Honour " blog, which is updated after each night.
Our forthcoming artists can be found in the Top Friends list...or why not click their names in the announcement below, and give them a listen ? If you like what you hear, you can either take your chance and turn up on the night, or ring and book a table and join us from around 7pm to enjoy a bite to eat before the show starts around 8pm ( For reservations, please ring Bedfords on 01603-666869 and mention Grapevine )
Please come along and give us a look. We think you will be surprised by the quality and range of unsung talent to be enjoyed, and live music in an intimate setting simply cannot be beaten.
GRAPEVINE nights are generally held every 4th Wednesday at:
Bedfords Bar and Restaurant,
1 Old Post Office Yard, Bedford Street
Norwich, NR2 1SL.
Please telephone 01603-666869 and mention Grapevine if you wish to reserve a table.
Hi all at the Grapevine. The new United Moshers site is up at www.unitedmoshers.com, we now have an improved gig/events guide called "what's on" Feel free to add any gigs or events that are being held at the grapevine. Each venue can make a profile first to link to events. Just make an account (it's free) and click on submit new event on the what's on page.
The old site got searched regularly for gigs and events, and we're going on a big marketing drive with the new site. So it will be an even greater place to promote what your doing.
Thats great it's all booked - they're all coming in thick and fast now - I look forward particularly to this one....You have some great artists on the roster whom I've either seen or played with before and the venue looks fantastic. All the best for now.
thank you for adding us up - glad you liked what you heard! we're just finishing up on a new record which should be out before the year is out. in the meantime, you can grab a couple of free tracks from our previous release on our page, and download the last record from iTunes or CD Baby.
give us a yell if you'd like us to come play an acoustic show for you
VIRTUOSITY...OR EXPRESSION? Franz Liszt once declared that "Virtuosity is not an outgrowth, but an indispensable element of music"... What do you think? Drop a line on my new blog Thank you Leo
Aaww sorry Steve, would love to have attended on Wednesday next, especially to see the superb Emily Creed, but my bass-playing services are already engaged for that night with Norwich City Concert Band.
Have a great night!
Heather x
PS I'm playing solo at the Music House on Friday, maybe see you there?
