Gregg Wright . . . Master of the Fender Stratocaster; award winning guitarist to the biggest stars in music; Grand Prize Winner of the Monterey Bay Blues Festival's "Battle of the Blues Bands," and hailed by the British music press as "the new King of Rockin' Blues Guitar!"
Wright, is an electrifying live performer; "I learned fast how to not look like a
statue onstage, performing beside Michael Jackson every night back in his
Thriller days!" recalling when he served as Jackson’s lead guitarist.
Describing his music, Wright states, " I combine Blues with the deep feeling of
Soul, and Rock & Roll’s energy, to get a Blues sound all my own." But it’s his
guitar that leaves audiences spellbound . . . . "One of the most
innovative guitarists of our time . . . Wright’s got more depth than the
Atlantic Ocean!" says the International Guitar Festival of Great Britain.
"A world-class guitarist, who makes the Strat look like a toy!" is how
L.A.’s Music Connection magazine describes Gregg.
Gregg Wright, began his professional career on the U.S. Southern circuit, touring and opening shows for Blues legends Albert King and Freddie King, receiving encouragement from both elder Bluesmen. After an early ‘80's move from Louisiana to Los Angeles, Wright became a top session man, recording albums and touring with Mick Fleetwood, Michael Jackson, the Gap Band, Spencer Davis, and many more. His soaring guitar lines are featured on the IMAX movie soundtrack "Ocean Oasis" with
the Prague Philharmonic. Gregg’s original composition "A House Divided" from his "Lightning Strike!" CD, was voted # 1, ahead of B.B. King, Jimi Hendrix and Stevie Ray Vaughan, by the listeners of Electric Blues Radio-FM.
With his outstanding performances at major Blues festivals and concert halls
worldwide, Gregg Wright is quickly taking the planet by storm with his fiery brand of Rockin’ Blues Guitar. Welcome to the Blues in the 21st Century!

I added a new song to the player. It’s called “Frantic Freedom”.
It’s a live studio groove rock jam that’s funky as hell! Think of Jimi Hendrix’s “Foxey Lady” on steroids, and you’ll have a good idea of what’s in store for you when you hear the song. There’s also a companion live video for the song. And in the video I do my upside-down guitar thing. Ya gotta see it!!
Also, I added another video called “a little bit of my history”, in which I talk about some of the things that shaped me as a guitar player.
This guy's got class, style, skills and a damn good ability to deliver some mega-rockin' blues jams.Kind of like Mojo Jynx meets Smokey Wilson while sharing shots with Stevie Ray Vaughn and Johnny Winter on a 110 degree day. HOT,HOT,HOT!Damn, gimme' some more!
