Zac Harmon
The Blues According to Zacariah
Born and raised in the heart of Jackson, Mississippi, Zac Harmon is a true disciple of the music that emanated from the citys historic Farish Street district. Universally recognized as the home of such great blues legends as the late, great Elmore James, Farish Street was quite simply the impetus for the blues, as it was the center of culture, commerce and creativity during Harmons early years.
While in high school and college, Harmon gigged as a guitarist for the likes of Z.Z. Hill, McKinley Mitchell, Dorothy Moore, King Floyd and Sam Myers. Relocating to L.A. in the early eighties, he worked as a studio musician, then established himself as a writer and producer, crafting songs for the likes of the OJays, Freddie Jackson, Karyn White, Alexander O'Neal, Black Uhuru and the Whispers.
While composing and performing music for a movie score, Harmon was finally compelled to pursue his longtime dream to return to his roots and record his first blues project. The result was 2002s Live at Babe & Ricky's Inn, an electrifying testimonial to the Mississippi blues. The album showcased the sound at its best and introduced Zac Harmon as a true torchbearer for the next generation of the blues.
In 2004, Zac Harmon & the Midsouth Blues Revue, won the Blues Foundations prestigious International Blues Challenge (IBC) title of Best Unsigned Band". Zac Harmon continues to enthrall audiences and garner praise from the media and fans alike. The Zac Harmon Band features Buthel on Bass, Cedric Goodman on Drums, Corey Lacy and Rodney B.R. Millon on guitar.
After winning the IBC title and while continuing to perform across the country, Harmon carefully assessed the state of the blues and his own state of mind, seriously committing himself to writing, recording and producing his next album along with producer/artist Phil Gates. The Blues According To Zacariah reflects his commitment to the blues and to keeping it real, as he takes you from the pulpit to the juke joint with such standouts as That Mighty High, Whos Knockin, It Hurts Me Too (featuring Miss Mickey Champion) and Comfort of a Man (with Greg Wright).
The Blues According to Zacariah debuted at ..14 on the Living Blues National Radio Airplay Chart, with tracks also added at XM Satellite Radios Bluesville and the American Blues Network. The listeners of XM Satellite Radio voted Zac Harmon Best New Blues Artist in the 2005 XM Nation Music Awards. Harmon finished 2005 with a Best New Artist Debut nomination from the Blues Foundation for the 2006 Blues Music Awards.

I think I should have no other mortal wants, if I could always have plenty of music. It seems to infuse strength into my limbs and ideas into my brain. Life seems to go on without effort, when I am filled with music. George Eliot~ "She says it so well!"

As a big fan of you both, I was excited to see you had some gigs with Diunna. I was, of course, much less excited to find that they were in Europe.... I'm sure I'm not alone as a Texas blues fan in hoping that these shows get recorded, as I would definitely pick up either a live album or DVD of you two together. You ought to think about it. You also ought to get her up here to Dallas to play with you sometime for those of us that can't afford to go trekking through Europe (what's up with the best of Texas spending all their time over there anyways?! Since when were Norway or France meccas of the modern blues?!)
