Finalmente il primo album full-lenght degli Haulin’ass: “Towards Which Future”, un concept-album di hardcore non convenzionale e immune alle tradizionali classificazioni di genere, che si snoda in tre capitoli per dodici canzoni. Un omaggio al tempo.
Dopo dieci anni di attività, EPs, compilation internazionali e concerti anche al fianco di band come Strung Out e Born From Pain, finalmente il segno indelebile di un progetto compiuto, discepolo di nessuno.
Un suono ricercato e inusuale, che guarda all’hardcore nu-school come al rock’n’roll, al metal e al crossover: un messaggio nuovo e consapevole, molesto e contaminato, che nasce spontaneamente dal sistematico rifiuto di qualunque limite.
Finally the first full lenght album from Haulin'ass: “Towards which future”, a concept album of unconventional hardcore, immune to traditional genre-classifications. An homage to time that develops in three chapters, twelve songs.
After ten years of activity, EPs, international compilations and gigs with bands like Strung Out and Born from Pain, at last the permanent mark of an accomplished project, disciple of nobody.
An unusual and refined sound that looks to nu-school hardcore as well as to rock’n’roll, metal and crossover: a new and conscious message, pestering and contaminate, that rises spontaneously from the systematic refuse of every limit.
BIOGRAFIA
Gli Haulin’ass nascono nel 1999 a Piacenza. Suonano punk e hardcore melodico. Nel 2001 incidono il primo demo, omonimo di sei brani, venduto in cinquecento copie.
Nella seconda metà del 2003 cambia la formazione della band: il batterista lascia il gruppo e il suo posto viene occupato dalla prima chitarra Piè che si dedica, da allora, alla sezione ritmica. Al suo posto, come prima chitarra, subentra Gio (ex Evelines).
A questa novità corrisponde un periodo di assestamento e di scrittura di nuovi brani che evidenziano un cambio di rotta stilistico: i pezzi si fanno tesi e veloci, la strada è quella dell’hardcore melodico, contaminato dalla rabbia e dell’attitudine hardcore vecchia scuola.
La nuova formazione incide, come autoproduzione, “Get some stress” (2004), che ottiene ottime recensioni e risposta di pubblico. Si allacciano buoni rapporti di collaborazione con l’intera scena alternativa, e la band si esibisce in parecchie piazze del Nord Italia.
Con l’etichetta Indie Box, gli Haulin’Ass partecipano per tre volte consecutive alle compilation internazionali realizzate dalla label, a fianco di band headliner come A Whilelm Scream, Tsol, Casualties, Rufio e altri.
In dieci anni gli Haulin’ass hanno collezionato ormai 250 esibizioni live. Già dagli esordi la band ha avuto un ottimo rapporto con il palco: è la dimensione che più valorizza l’attitudine e la sfrontatezza che negli anni è diventata il marchio di fabbrica delle performance.
Gli Haulin’Ass hanno condiviso il palco con Strung Out, Born From Pain, Hormonauts, Modena City Ramblers, Peter Punk, Crummy Stuff, De Crew, To Kill, L’invasione degli omini verdi, Skruingers, Stinking Polecats, Nettezza Umana e The Mannix.
Oggi, dopo un percorso tanto longevo e produttivo quanto “anarchico", hanno appena raggiunto il traguardo del primo full-lenght ufficiale Towards Which Future: un concept album composto da tre capitoli e dodici brani.
Registrato e mixato nella primavera 2008 all’Elfo Studio di Alberto Callegari (Tavernago, Piacenza) da Carlo Izzo, masterizzato all’Oasis Mastering Studio (S.Barbara - USA) da Gene Grimaldi, prodotto dalla storica etichetta indie/alternative/hardcore italiana Vacation House, distribuito da GoodFellas ed edito da Le Parc Music.
La band è aperta ad altre opportunità di collaborazione: in particolare è alla ricerca di realtà che collaborino e la supportino nel booking e nella promozione. Mentre si avvia una stagione di concerti e promozione dell'album, gli Haulin continuano a lavorare ai nuovi brani, preludio al futuro album previsto entro il 2011, e a proporsi dal vivo con regolarità nel panorama alternativo italiano.
BIOGRAPHY
Haulin'ass, born in 1999 in Piacenza. They play punk and melodic hardcore. In 2001 they record the first demo, 6 track and self titled, sold in 500 copies.
In the second half of 2003 the band’s line-up changes: the drummer leaves the band so Piè, original first guitarist, starts to play drums and Gio joins the band as a new guitarist.
To this change corresponds a period of settlement and writing of new songs that highlight a change in the style. The tracks grow tight and fast, on the road to melodic hardcore, but contaminated by the old school hardcore anger and attitude.
The new band line-up in 2004 self-produces a new demo, the 7 tracks “Get some stress” ep, that gets very good reviews and audience feedback. The band has good collaboration links with the whole alternative italian scene, where most of its gigs take place.
With Indiebox label, the band participates to 3 compilation releases in which also appear A Wilhelm Scream, TSOL, The Casualties, Rufio and others.
In this 10 year career Haulin'ass collected almost 250 live exhibitions. Since the debut, the band has always had a very good feeling with the stage: the live one is the dimension that most of all reveals its nasty attitude and that in the years became the performances' brand.
Haulin'ass shared stages with Strung Out, Born From Pain, Hormonauts, Modena City Ramblers, Crummy Stuff, De Crew, To Kill, L’invasione degli omini verdi, Skruingers, Stinking Polecats and many more.
Today, after this long and productive, as well as “anarchist” path, the band just reached the goal of the first full-lenght album “Towards Which Future”: a three chapter concept album with 12 tracks, recorded and mixed in spring 2008 at Elfo Studio, and mastered at Oasis Mastering Studio (Santa Barbara – USA), produced by the historical italian hardcore label Vacation House Records, distributed by GoodFellas and published by LeParc Music.
The band is still in search of a reality to support it in distribution, booking and promotion, and always working on new songs looking forward at a new, stronger and unorthodox album for 2011, and keeping on the stages.
