once upon a time there was a girl named alexis and a boy called darren. alexis had decided to give up her promising career as the best rapper alive, because, well, it was embarassingly obvious that she was. already. after a beef ensued over who in fact had the most cake and pushed the hottest whips, she had to flee to england for safety (as they do not understand alternative meanings to the words "cake" and "whip" and she was therefore able to make her claims with impunity).
darren had quit his norwegian death metal band after they won eurovision over ethical concerns about the music's influence on children to wear stupid costumes that made them look like trolls. he still doesn't understand what there is to be so upset about in norway, except that everyone was jealous that in a land of beautiful people, he was indisputably the most attractive one. totally.
they both decided that violence makes people unhappy and handclaps make them happy. thus a tweecore indiepop dynasty was forged.
called to their side in the campaign to heal the world with poppy guitar hooks, shimmering keyboard lines that would make the inventor of the moog weep with joy and the untapped power of the glockenspiel was sam. in order to escape his past as a member of 'boyzrfun', a highly underrated late 90s boy band, he took on the persona of a mild mannered future landed baron from the home counties. when really he's a chav from croydon. no seriously, he has a hidden burberry lining in his riding clothes - oh right and plays bass.
