FINALLY! HAMPSTER ON THE WHEEL IS NOW AVAILABLE FOR DOWNLOAD ON iTUNES AND OTHER DOWNLOADING SITES AND ALSO ON CD BABY! DONT BE SHY!!
If you like your swing a little acid with a voodoo tinge, scat vocals with the auto tune on stun, wailing horn, agonised organ and throbbing shuffling beats then Heavyshift could be the band for you.
Heavy Shift scored highly in the mid 90s to early noughties with top three jazz chart hits in America and the UK, much touring and a well deserved reputation for putting on a stunning live show......After releasing the albums 'Unchain Your Mind' (1994), 'The Last Picture Show' (1996) 'Say Hello to Teddy' (2000) and 'The Conversation (USA only, 2002) the band scaled down their schedule as other professional commitments took over and slimmed down to a sax/organ/drums three piece......
With members of the band variously scoring music for TV and film and touring with other projects, Shift have not played much in the last couple of years however they HAVE managed to recently record a new album, which is currently being mixed. Recording in one day in a decaying disused cabaret club on the edge of Birmingham, these new songs powerfully display the live Heavy Shift machine in action, showing off the boys in all their spontaneous, un over-dubbed glory. The tracks on this page are a good taster of what is to come and the short films of them rehearsing for the recording of the album give a great idea of how dynamic they can be in the flesh.
Heavy Shift are available for bookings etc worldwide through this page or their website.

hehe! it's going well thank you! As you have probably seen in my photos, I have got myself a great guitar! I think I'm meant to be doing another practice performance on wednesday. Problem is I can't perform! I have done 3 practices already and ruined all 3, even though I practiced until I had learnt a song perfectly off my heart! I'm planning to do an Oasis one, but need vocals... This time it can be an ensemble, but I haven't managed to sort anything due to work experience and a week off. And I can't sing!
Jazz music is one thing, but I found out that flixster has linked up with Myspace. so if you haven't already, try looking up your films and we'll compare notes later.
I love your sound! While jazz is great, your "acid" jazz definitely lifts the spirits. Do you ever perform in the U.S.? If and when you do, make sure to post the info here because I would so love to see you perform! Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!
