melvis tibet: guitars, kaoss pad I, casio vl-tone, contact mics, shouting shit, and a smorgasbord of quaint found sounds.

Jazz Trance (now have their ownspace, and) are a product of the "up and coming New Cross" band scene (well NME said it was up and coming, though I'm unsure of the impression this may instill...). Both alumni of Goldsmiths College, made friends through our somewhat rare fondness for what The Wire magazine terms as "outer limits" areas in music (no, I don't work in PR for loads of magazines but will make it a leitmotif of this passage to reference as many as possible. There was this guy outside Waterloo station yesterday giving away free copies of Country Life. Wonderful publication). We agreed that Throbbing Gristle were one of the most important bands from the last fifty years (to us, anyway!) and proceeded to start having impromptu improv sessions on whatever instruments/industrial artefacts, contact mics, synths etc. and it soon progressed to us getting gigs and the augmentation of instrumentation (guitars, casios, more synths, Max/MSP, sine tone oscillators...).
As for my own stuff (not reviewed in Mixmag), it's just mainly half-baked (in many senses) ideas that I may or may not complete. Perhaps instead of all this music malarkey I could just try and become a columnist for Horse and Hound.
I composed some original music for the introduction to accompany a documentary on the nature and wildlife on the Galapagos Islands...
