It
depends from the people that hear this sound type, if there is larger
conscience the future of the Metal it can be very better, but the metal
is the only eternal style.
Hicsos was formed by Marco Anvito, Antonio Saba, in 1990, inspired by the main thrash metal bands at the time.
In 1991, the band recorded its first demo, entitled "The Face of the Abyss". Three years later the second demo tape "Suicide Illusion" was released. The public acceptance was so good that leaded Hicsos to a D.R.I. open act.
After 1997 and several changes in the lineup the band toured by the Brazilian northeast. After that tour Marcelo Ledd joined the band bringing Crossover and Hardcore influences.
Renewed, the band started a new phase. Heavier guitars, more aggressive beats, in the line of band like Biohazard, Agnostic Front, S.O.D and Slayer.
With a new material the band shared the stage with Mercyfull Fate and Exodus and went for the recording of third demo entitled "HICSOS".
More changes in the lineup didn't make the band lose its focus and in 2001, Hicsos released its first album called "EATIN.. CONCRETE" under the Triarch Records label. The album produced by Marcelo POMPEU and HEROS Trench (KORZUS) got excellent reviews and put the band to share the stage with Napalm Death, Anthrax and Destruction.
In 2006 the lineup reaches a solid state with the new guitar player Nilmon Filho, and the band goes to the recorcording of the new album.
Entitled "TECHNOLOGIC PAIN" - Dynamo Records (2007) the band reaches a new level and gets excellent reviews all over the world. Hicsos was invited to share the stage with OBITUARY in São Paulo and at Roça in Roll - Varginha MG (the biggest Heavy Metal Open Air in Brasil). Besides that, the band was ellected by Roadie Crew Magazine, with readers votes, among the ten best bands in Brazil.
Also the GUITAR COVER magazine pointed the guitars players Antônio Saba and Nilmon Filho as the 2007 Metal breakthrough.
With a powerfull Thrash Metal with political lyrics, the band shows their work with critics to society and uses the weight of thrash and the power of hardcore to say their message.
Hicsos remains as the main Thrash Metal band from Rio de Janeiro and one of the greatest in Brazil, after several lineup changes and 18 years of nonstop hardcore action.
