"atmosphere of tension with jangly, nervy guitars and a fractious rhythm section"

"Higher Love uses the ultimate goth formula – dramatic, gloomy, spooky, at times theatrical (there’s even a twist at the end of the set), definitely very Cure-ish, very slowed down Bauhaus."
(source-UK Events)
"Never judge a book by its cover. So it's no surprise that Higher Love, a less than sounding "cool" band, are technically gifted and great song writers... "
(source-SurfaceUnsigned)
"a very very dark version of Joy Division…Or an obscurantist Depeche Mode or maybe even the sonic realization of Bono's suicide attempt!… lyrics concerning The Apocalypse, and bloody hell, it actually sounds like it! Cool!!…"

Higher Love was established in 1998 in Warsaw by drummer and singer-Mark Dmowski and then re-established in 2005 in London.
The name of the band has been taken from Depeche Mode's song.
The most important features in our band are the strong rhythm section, melodically or harmonically layered guitar/ keyboard and even bass parts and powerful vocals in our songs.
We play POP and we are not ashamed of that category.
But this is a pop with some DARK shades and with hard PUNK or even METAL energy.Final mix of all the band's inspirations can be categorized as a COLD ROCK GOTH PUNK.
Music influencing us is mostly-80's new wave post-rock and bands like The Doors,U2,Depeche Mode,Queen and The Cure.
We have played almost 80 gigs in London and Europe.
In 2004 we have recorded EP-'The Further From You The Less To Speak' which contains songs
like onirical 'Promise' and alternative sing along like 'Forget The World'.
In 2008 we have recorded another EP called ironically 'Folk Songs'.
On our new EP 'Ring of Fire' recorded in April 2009, you can find our version of Johnny Cash’s classic 'Ring of Fire'.
In Summer we have been choosen to play at 'Rockstar' festival
and in September we recorded two new songs for EMI/Roundhouse studios project called 30/30.
Currently we concentrate our efforts to promote ourselves in London and worldwide.
We have performed in places such as-Pilton Working Men's Club,Hope and Anchor,12 Bar Club,Leonards,Dry Bar,Bull and Gate,Lark in the Park,The Cock Tavern-Kilburn,Comedy Pub,Cavendish Arms-Stockwell,Heatham House-Twickenham,Club Criminal-Soho,The Phoenix Pub,Kink Bar,The Miller,Boston Music Rooms,333 Mothers Bar,White Lion-Streatham,Brannigans,The Standard,Bridgehouse,Good Ship,Carling Islington Academy,Fiddlers Elbow,The Gaff.

MONOTONIX Saturday 28th November Nice n Sleazys, Glasgow
The release of their new album tops off a whirlwind year of touring, the infamy surrounding their charged live perfomances steadily mounting. Rightly so, check out this youtube link- http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XmEHu-QAgNE&feature=related - and marvel at one of the typically unpredictable gigs of the band that Spin have declared the "most exciting live band in rock'n'roll."

We should definitely play together somewhere at some stage, as we seem to be in the same musical frequency. Right now we are reduced to our minimal expression (just 1 person) so if you know of any musicians who might be interested in collaborating with this project give us a shout.
