Higher Love was established in 1998 in Warsaw,Poland by drummer and singer-Jaroslav Mark Dmowski.
Name of the band comes from Depeche Mode's song-breathtaking,almost religious anthem from the album 'Songs of Faith and Devotion'.
After the problems with ignoration of guitarists,
I found the devoted,talented and creative musicians-Artur Majewski-guitar and Dariusz Kalisz-bass.We have played about 40 gigs in Warsaw and in Poland.
In 2004 we recorded studio EP-'The Further From You The Less To Speak'.
HL songs were played in many radio stations like BIS-Radio,Radio Active and RDC for example.
In 2005 one of our songs-'Pop Jam' has been released on the PFD(Pragian Wave Of Sound) compilation.
We play POP and we are not ashamed of that category.
But this is a pop with some DARK shades and with hard PUNK or even METAL energy.
In June 2005 leader of the band moved to London.
We(I) started to perform-at the early stage some acoustic sets with various musicians.
I did some open mics in Camden,Shepherds Bush etc.
In December 2006 I started to collaborate with new(old) bassist-Sebastian Malec
We have played in London gigs with accidental musicians and many times as a Drum and Bass duo and it worked very well.
In December 2007 there was a radical change and band became full-time trio with
Jaroslav Mark Dmowski on drums and vocal,Yuchi 'Ichi' Sakamoto from Japan on guitar and Antipodean Ed Gardner-bass.In April 2008 band joins new bassist Danni Orchid.
Currently we concentrate our efforts to promote ourselves in London and worldwide.
To date we have performed in places such as-Hope and Anchor,12 Bar Club,Leonards,Dry Bar,Lark in the Park,The Cock Tavern-Kilburn,Comedy Pub,Cavendish Arms-Stockwell,Heatham House-Twickenham,Club Criminal-Soho,The Miller,The Standard.
Radiostations playing our music-www.xndradio.com,www.rockinjeff.com from Peterborough,Down FM from Northern Ireland.
Band is preparing to record some old stuff and we are working on some completely new darker material called 'Vicious Games'.
We book ourselves for festivals in UK and Europe and (who knows) in America.
