Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds, Cat Power, Angels of Light, Shearwater, Einsturzende Neubauten (for the laughter), Crime+The City Solution, Iron and Wine, Tindersticks, The National, Frightened Rabbit, Joy Division, Okkervil River, Gogol Bordello, Roxy Music, My Bloody Valentine, Janis Joplin, Arcade Fire, Low, the Flaming Lips, still with the Skinny Puppy, Yo La Tengo, Stinky Diaper Love Parade. I made that last one up.
Movies
No Country For Old Men is probably one of the best movies I've seen in a long, long time. But then there's Zodiac, Silence of the Lambs, Brazil, The Mist, Glengarry Glen Ross, Rosemary's Baby, Little Otik, Night of the Hunter, Miller's Crossing, Near Dark, Children of Men, Shaun of the Dead, Pan's Labyrinth, Devil's Backbone, Videodrome, Barton Fink, Empire Strikes Back, The Sweet Hereafter, Rushmore, Harold and Maude, The Graduate, Exorcist, Jaws, Wings of Desire, Alien(s), Apatow, Grindhouse, Never Cry Wolf, Hot Fuzz.
Television
I'm Alan Partridge, Garth Marenghi's Darkplace, Arrested Development, snotty cooking shows, Curb Your Enthusiasm, Fawlty Towers, Father Ted, KITH, Mr. Show, Law and Order (Special Victims Unit marathons specifically), Daily Show/Colbert Report, News Radio reruns, British Office, Twilight Zone marathons, Extras, the History Channel, anything with actual surgeries or haunted houses or military history or secrets from the Bible or stories of alien abductions. I also find myself being intensely fascinated by political punditry, but only for about a 5 second-long spurt in any given 6 month period.
Books
I enjoy a nice, sloppy Vonnegut every so often. I've also read Dune about 20 times.
Heroes
Janis Joplin's grimy armpits, Terry Gilliam, Al Franken.

Hello! Easter Sunday sTEAp Sessions will be taking place at the Caterpillar Lounge from 5pm-10pm!!! Grab some friends and come on down for a little Sunday Afternoon Funday! This is sure to be a great time. I hope you can make it!
Twin Cities Cross Promotions Network and Robbie Lee, BeatMD would like cordially invite you to a very special Easter Sunday edition of sTEAp! Additionally, this will be the final going away party for our dear friend Ms. Jen Hustler, as she makes her move to beautiful San Diego, California! WE WILL MISS YOU HUSSIE!
Easter sTEAp takes place Sunday, April 12, 2009 from 5pm-10pm at the Caterpillar Lounge, located on 26th & Nicollet in Minneapolis. Many of you are already very familiar with this space and I hope you will be able to attend! This is a new venture for the Caterpillar Lounge, as they have yet to actually have a afternoon dance/social session! The weather forecast says it will be a mild spring day, with temps in the mid-50's. Let's show the Caterpillar Lounge how we like our Sunday Afternoon recovery sessions! IN STYLE!
DJ Jam E-Z will kick off the event with a 2-hour vinyl set from 5pm-7pm and I (Robbie Lee, BeatMD) will take over the mills from 7pm-10pm. Who knows, I may even decide to bring some vinyl treats myself, if I can stand carrying the extra 50lbs of music! (LOL) Regardless, you will be certain to hear the sounds that take you underground and into the depths of the doctor!
Finally, if you do plan to attend, please feel free to invite those friends who you hold near and dear. Without you and yours, Twin Cities Cross Promotion Network cannot make this event a success. It takes a village to raise a child and you all are part of this village!
