.. Spark Summer Series: Hippocampus from Spark Video on Vimeo.
Hippocampus positions intimate, personal songwriting and vocals amid a joyous backdrop of simple instrumentation, creating songs that are at once familiar and unfamiliar. Captivating in their live performances, the music is ambitious. They ask their audience quiet questions about the meaning of work, the power of redemption, and the urgency of life.
..
Conceived in 1998 evolved from a chance meeting through a house party jam. The band began learning their craft by playing mostly cover material, with a handful of their own compositions thrown in. Together they toured across the Delaware Valley, and they discovered the power and resonance of live performance in welcome settings such as the Deer Park Tavern, East End Cafe, IronHill Brewery, and Logan House.
The band took a three-year hiatus to explore the depths of their musical abilities. During this period, Tom embarked on a personal journey to complete an album of his music which became Diamond State. Along the way, he asked for help from his old mates, who had been pursuing their own creative passions in unique ways.
What they discovered was that their shared past experience, coupled with their own personal growth as humans and as musicians, led them to discover a new and more focused voice from which to communicate to an audience. This discovery has invigorated the group, and they are setting forth on a new creative path, in search of new listeners for their musical creations.
HIPPOCAMPUS music for your long term memory....

Is there anything else to do besides vibe on good music? ha ha ha ... Well, to be honest I have so much going on right now. I'm in the process of starting up a brand new management/promotions/booking company called Monster Entertainment. Between that and working almost everyday I've been keeping busy. We should link up on a show or two... maybe more. I think I read your band name at least 4 times at the Homey Awards... good stuff!
Yeoo fellas, what time is the gig on the 28th? If it's early enough I could still kick it if you're down for it. I've got a gig in Wayne that starts at 9:30, but I can setup and be good to go there if I'm arriving by 9 for it. Lemme know!
Thought I'd swing by your page again.. I've actually got the 28th open if you're up for an impromptu jam on somethin. I'll definitely be swingin out either way.
Yeah, I perform a good bit of Dave with my band Leaving Cash. It's always a great time to mix some of their material in with ours at shows- lots of common ground on a few tracks.
