Influences

Kahlil Gibran's 'The Prophet:'
[To work with love] is to weave the cloth with threads drawn from your heart, even as if your beloved were to wear that cloth.       It is to build a house with affection, even as if your beloved were to dwell in that house.       It is to sow seeds with tenderness and reap the harvest with joy, even as if your beloved were to eat the fruit.       It is to charge all things you fashion with a breath of your own spirit,       And to know that all the blessed dead are standing about you and watching."
Fall of 2009 he was a guest artist at UC Berkeley's Department of Theater, Dance and Performance Studies, teaching the course "Contemporary Song-Based Performance Art" and collaboratively writing a musical with Joe Goode

Holcombe Waller is an insane love warrior of the heart who shoots cupid's arrows and death daggers with words in equal measure; sometimes in song, other times in text message. He enjoys cooking, movies, sunsets, sunrises and throwing parties. Other truisms and recommendations: Primal ecstasy is the new Navajo Princess is the new black. Self denial puts the sham in shaman. When anything touches or enters you body, never say it is not God, for He and I are just trying to get close to you. A drug is a medicine is a drug, tread lightly and eat well. Your good health is the revolution and the protest. Go gather all your friends, light a fire, and freak out. Invite me.

Hey Holcombe, I love the song Down Cried, shades of Tim Buckley except more spiritual. Also the Seven Eight Song, a long time favorite of mine. Do you know Nick Drake's River Man? One of the greatest five-four songs of all time. I've written a few seven eight songs myself.
I really hope you manage to play some shows around New England someday. I've been listening for well over a year now, and it had never occured to me to check for a myspace!
I love the music, it's beautiful and there's nothing better in the world for a quiet late night drive under the stars. Thank you<3
Chelsea (12 years old) performs Beethoven and Chopin at a church. Different musicians got together to share each others talents. It’s normally called a shed. Chelsea thought it was comical to hear other musicians reacting to her performance. Check it out.
Hiya, Merry Christmas and Happy New Year! Hope you got a ridiculous amount of presents all of which you wanted very much. Also I trust that you spent Christmas with those you like best in all the world, cause otherwise, why bother? I am running away to Canada in January to record some music, so maybe I should incorporate that into my new years resolution... something, something, I will be creative and productive, blah, blah, blah. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year, hope the holidays are great fun for you. -Kate Elliott
