The Menomenator Strikes Back!	Jun 1 2009 6:04 PM I was thinking about what you said the other night about bands getting really big really fast. I kind of brushed it off at the time because it's more the exception than the rule but when it happens it's not always a good thing. Case in point is Wavves....a couple of kids from California. I don't know if you've heard about them but pitchfork picked them up and they went from nothing to playing festivals nearly overnight. They were controversial....lots of people hated their music. So the other night they have "technical issues" in Barcelona and the kid has an anxiety ridden freak out on stage. Of course pitchfork had to pour fuel on the fire and they get the pleasure of being the laughing stock of self righteous hipsters everywhere after they cancel their European tour. People piss me off. It's like all the sudden you're not allowed to be a human, make mistakes, do dumb shit that all kids do, etc. It really bums me out and underscores just how fucked up this whole music thing really is. Collectively we seem to have no respect for people unless we actually know them. It seems we all want something until we actually have it and then have no idea what to do with it. I'm not sure I'm actually making a point here but it resonates none the less. Great show with Jim BTW.

No really...it was....I'm not just saying that even through you could cover church hymns and I'd STILL come out to see it...and laugh my ass off...perhaps inappropriately; perhaps not. I'll put some video up on the CORRECT page ASAP. We actually have TALKDEMONIC playing MY home town tonight which I'm super excited about and completely undeserving of. I just got back home and haven't really slept much the last few days.

David Bazan just played my crappy little town and he impressed the hell out of me (no pun intended!) He's on tour solo right now... I bought his DVD at the show and listened to his whole discography and out of everything Control just blew me away..... I can't believe I went this long without ever hearing his music.... it's all awesome.
