Anyone unfamiliar with the venomous Portuguese Man-of-War would likely mistake it for a jellyfish. Not only is it not a jellyfish, it's not even an “it”, but a “they”, an animal made up of a colony of organisms working together. Normaly they are just 3: Miguel Correia (guitar), Gil Pereira (double bass) and João Guimarães (drums). The Portuguese Man-of-War is not self-propelled, it floats moved by the wind and ocean current. To adapt to each new environment, it improvises.
Thank you for your kind words....I am a Saxophonist, who was brought up on a musical diet of everything jazz...I have fallen away from the pure roots now though, but would love to get back to it at some stage... I am not as comfortable playing in a punkesque context, but music is one of those things that you need to stretch and challenge oneself to blur the borders....I love your music and if ever in Portugal or you in Australia, I would love to jam with you guys...fantastic tracks.... Soon I will be completing some more improv jazz numbers (similar to Orlando) just getting some time is the next trick!!! Take Care Jonathan Scorched Dog
thanks very much for getting back in touch and for the encouraging words! It's good to hear your music again - love your patience as players - you really let the music breath and move as it needs to.
