   About THE IDYLLISTS
Image and video hosting by TinyPic

THE IDYLLISTS are a group of four musicians from Los Angeles, CA. The indie rock quartet consists of British frontman Ian Webber, guitarist Matthew Barge, bassist George Mohler, and drummer Sam Gallagher. The Idyllists put a modern twist on 60s Britpop and mix it with traditional American pop sensibilities, ultimately creating timeless rock & roll -- California style. The group is currently performing live and recording new material with 3 additional members. These new additions include Colin Ritchie (lead guitar), Nick Light (rhythm guitar), and Daniel Dempsey (Hammond organ).

THE LONG HOURS BETWEEN SUNSET & MORNING
"Yes, this is Sunset Blvd., Los Angeles, California. It's about 5 o'clock in the morning."
- Billy Wilder's "Sunset Blvd."

While the majority of working class citizens spent their late hours crafting dreams, like any other night shifter, THE IDYLLISTS were busy plucking away at theirs. The four young, tightly-knit Los Angeleno musicians used the iconic, fast-paced Sunset Boulevard and many long, late nights as the motivation and inspiration for THE LONG HOURS BETWEEN SUNSET & MORNING. The same concrete that Charles Bukowski, Jim Morrison, Elvis and millions of other dreamers and believers once strolled through provided the influential backdrop for British frontman Ian Webber, guitarist Matthew Barge, bassist George Mohler, and drummer Sam Gallagher. The famous 22-mile boulevard bends through an eclectic mix of lifestyles, cultures, and social statuses that pass through the gates of Pacific Palisades, Brentwood, Bel-Air, and Beverly Hills to the back alleys of Los Feliz, Silver Lake, and Echo Park. The album's title, dedication and musicianship found within are equally pertinent to the sweat and tears exerted from Oxford Street in London, Beale Street in Memphis, 6th Street in Austin, or Yonge Street in Toronto.

If there was ever a time where America needed to recognize and embrace its roots, that time is now. THE LONG HOURS BETWEEN SUNSET & MORNING plays like a throwback to drive-thru movies, Sunliner convertibles, carefree walks along the water, and romance -- all while maintaining relevance to 2009. The 11-track debut delves into the same life and love struggles found not only in the glorious days of the 50s and 60s, but also in today's world. The Idyllists not only prove that they could've been The London Fog house band or found amongst Rodney Bingenheimer's vinyl collection during the 60s, but also a steady mainstay directly across the street at The Viper Room in modern day 2009.

The album's catchy lead single "You're Gonna Break My Heart Someday" addresses the preconceived heartbreak involved with carrying on a painful relationship that will inevitably crumble in the end. The Sunday morning ballad "I Think It's Going to Rain" explores the hardships and sacrifices made in long distance relationships, while the punchy, wildly infectious "Lucky Stars" pays homage to the great feeling found from being in love. THE LONG HOURS BETWEEN SUNSET & MORNING is the perfect companion to a short trek along Route 66 or a long adventure spanning across Interstate 10.

The Idyllists' debut album THE LONG HOURS BETWEEN SUNSET & MORNING was self-released in 2009. The album was self-produced along with David Cobb (Chris Cornell, Shooter Jennings, Nico Vega) and recorded in LA with engineer Greg Gordon (Oasis, Hot Hot Heat, The Ting Tings, Hank Williams III, Supergrass, Jet, The Thrills).

THE IDYLLISTS' debut album is available through iTunes, Amazon, CD Baby, Rhapsody, and other fine retailers.
