Influences
WIRE, joy division,CONTROL (arg.), P.I.L., the clash, the stooges,TELEVISION, gino soccio, THE CHAMELEONS, sex pistols, LoS PiLLoS, giorgio moroder, BLONDIE... the jesus & mary chain, CHIC, kraftwerk ... LOVE, These are historical influences. Basically,IGUANA LOVERS has been influenced by post punk and pop culture from 1976 to 1984 by it all and has played with bands that have been their influence also in differents shows and festivales like: sonic youth, new order, ian brown, happy mondays, the smiths dj, peter hook and mark gardener of ride between many others from 1990 to the present.
El regreso a la escena de Iguana Lovers se produce en 2005 con la excusa de presentar el E.P. IGUANA LOVERS, lo que hicieron tambien durante 2006 en diferentes escenarios de Argentina y Latinoamérica en donde mostraron un sonido y estilo propio que los caracteriza donde aúnan sus incursiones electrónicas con el rock & roll de guitarras mas irreverente, post punk, new wave y disco house.
Siempre con su formación original, en paralelo con el panorama musical global, autogestionandose y apelando a medios innovadores de difusión desde sus comienzos en 1990 y hasta estos días.
Fueron teloneros de New Order e Ian Brown en 2006, compartiendo el escenario con Peter Hook.
Junto a Mark Gardener, el ex lider de Ride, interpretaron algunas canciones de Ride en Buenos Aires a principios de 2007.
Han sido considerados como lo mas interesante de su generación por los medios de especializados de Argentina, JUNGLA el E.P. de 1992, los posiciono como pieza clave del llamado nuevo rock Argentino.
Iguana Lovers es presente y plasma esa frescura con energía primitiva que siempre está.
Acaban de lanzar ESENCIAL su nuevo disco en 2008, el cual estan presentando en vivo.

Yes, I managed to miss the release of the first PoP single since I joined the band (and my first single release ever!), but that's what happens when you're in the middle of the north Atlantic, running around in viking clothes.
