2005 yilinda gitaristleri Özer Lokmaci(gitar&vokal) ve Tufan Özasir(lead gitar) tarafindan Ankara’da temelleri atilan grup uzun süren davulcu ve bassçi arayislarindan sonra, Atakan Gündogdu(davul) ve Erman Erkilinç'la (bass gitar) kadrosunu tamamlai.
Impulse kelime anlami olarak biyolojide "sinir hücrelerinde elektriksel olarak mesaj ve uyarti iletim biçimi" olarak tanimlanir. Grubun “Impulse” ismini seçmesindeki en büyük etken de, biyolojideki anlama benzer sekilde, sarki sözlerinde vermek istedikleri anlami insanlara bu isim araciligiyla ve bu müzikle iletmektir. Sarkilarda genel olarak hayata, insanin tercihlerine ve bu tercihlere göre yasayacagina, kaderini tercihlerinin belirleyecegine dair sözler yer alir.
Tarz olarak 80'ler heavy/thrash metalinin içine kendi yorumlarini katmakta ve klasik bati ezgilerini harmanlamaktadirlar.Gitarlarda ve vokalde thrash agirliginin yani sira klasik bati müziginin etkileri görülür.Baslarda progressive yanlar duyulurken davullar ise power tadinda kulaga gelmektedir.
2006'da konserlere çikmaya baslayan grup 2007'nin Mart ayinda ilk demo çalismasi Trident of Life'i piyasaya çikardi.Demo çalismasinin ardindan Konya, Ankara, Istanbul, Kayseri gibi birçok sehirde organizasyonlarda sahneye çiktiktan sonra son olarak 10. Rock Station Festival da sahne aldi. Yer aldiklari konserlerde demolarindaki bestelerin yani sira çesitli cover parçalar çalmaktalar. The band was established by Özer Lokmaci(guitar&vocal) and Tufan Özasir(lead guitar) in Ankara in 2005. After long searches of the bass guitarist(Erman Erkilinç) and the drummer(Atakan Gündogdu), the band completed their staff.
Impulse is used in biology in the meaning of ‘the electrical messages and stimulations in neurons, this is why the band choose that name. Like an impulse, the band transmits the meaning they want to explain to the fans through this music and the lyrics. The songs are about the life itself, the choices, living the results of these choices and about the fate which is determined by them.
Their style can be called as 80’s heavy/thrash metal but with their interpretation and they also mix in classical western melodies in their songs. The effects of western melodies can be seen in the vocals and the guitars in addition to thrash’s sound. While basses are like progressive, the drums resemble power.
They started to perform in the concerts in 2006, then in march of 2007 they put their first demo ,Trident Of Life, on the market. After the demo, they continued their concerts in a lot of cities such as: Konya, Ankara, Istanbul, Kayseri and Rock Station Festival. They also performed different covers in addition to their own songs
