In 1998 Opa and Pesu started jamming together in their school’s band band club and they even played a few gigs. After a few years, in 2002 the others met Mr.Jones and the three guys started to play together. A little later they became a band and started to call themselves Opiate’.
Every band member brought their own musical influences to the band and after a time of frequent practicing they started to form their own style.
With a bass-playing friend Opiate’ played their first gig, it was year 2005.
The same year they recorded their first demo that presented their first four own songs. The demo was sold well amongst friends and the band reached their first real mile stone when one of the songs was played on radio Trombi.
At this point the band got to wonder if there were already too many bands with the same name, and started to think about a name-change. After a long and painful consideration they decided to go with Insane Affection.
In May 2007 the band recorded their second demo in Helsinki. All the members were very happy with the outcome: it had its own sound that combined heavy but melodic rock with a hue of grunge.
In the fall of 2007 Insane Affection won a bandcontest held in Helsinki and as a reward they recorded songs Et Tu Brute and Behind The Blind.
In the spring 2008 new bass- player Pasi TB was signed in to the band and now the real Insane Affection was starting to shape… In the summer 2008 band did their first festival gig (crazy weekend), got few of their songs in to GTA Finland game and got some feedback from a record company.
Now in 2009 band has recorded their debut album and it will be released in august or september, so lets see what the future brings.
All the members have a hunger for more, and they love music more than anything. New ideas are developed daily and they all want to get better, faster, stronger….
