we try to make music that touches both the brain and the heart.
“Rise” is a collection of songs we did over the last 3 Years. Actually we had 3 albums finished at the time of release. So the question was wich songs to put together to have a balanace between variety and a coherent experience of the album as a whole. The album is pretty “digital” and has its main focus on beats, even if there are pads all over it. What we tried is basically to find a way between repetitive and narrative structures and to create songs rather than tracks. Every track is meant to stand for itself and be distinct from each other, but hopefully they add up to a bigger whole.
congratulations on your new album! i ordered it from paul at tympanik audio last night... now i've just got to resist the urge to go listen to it online before i receive my cd.
anyway, i'm looking forward to getting it in the mail!

You're right that the music is lacking in sound quality. The music is actually a few years old by now. It was done on a very amateur set up. I had to stop making music when I was forced to move after hurricane katrina. I had the idea that I could maybe put out a compilation album of the old tracks in order to save up for a new project studio.

Luckily, since I had already pre-ordered the album on the Tympanik site anyway (hey, one can never go wrong with a Tympanik release).
