   About IT BITES

It Bites formed in Cumbria in the early 1980s, and achieved chart success in 1986 with their top 10 UK hit single 'Calling All The Heroes'. The band released three albums on Virgin Records – 'Big Lad In The Windmill' (1986), 'Once Around The World' (1988) and 'Eat Me In St Louis' (1989) before the band broke up following the departure of their original frontman Francis Dunnery.

Nearly 20 years later, and to meet considerable public demand, the three remaining band members – John Beck (keyboards), Bob Dalton (drums), and Dick Nolan (bass) – decided to reunite, along with new vocalist/guitarist John Mitchell, a well-respected guitarist and songwriter as well as a lifelong fan of the band.

The newly-reformed It Bites completed a successful tour of the UK at the end of 2006, which was followed by the release of a live album from the tour 'When The Lights Go Down' which features both old classics (including Kiss Like Judas, Still Too Young To Remember, Old Man And The Angel) as well as previewing a number of new songs.

Their fourth studio album 'The Tall Ships' – their first in nearly 20 years – is now available to buy from all major music retailers.

It Bites have just finished a UK tour, with new bass player Lee Pomeroy.

Last nights gig at Holmfirth was out of this world everything was spot on,from start to finish. This has to be the best performance i've seen since john mitchell joined the band.Whoever was responsible for the sound last evening also did a fantastic job(the fifth beatle)Thanks to the boys for a wonderful evening and many many thanks to to all the backroom boys who played a big part in putting the show on the road. The audience also played their part and it was a great turn out for a great band who deserve better recognition for all their efforts. Best wishes lads and thanks again.

Hello Lads

I came with a few mates to watch you in derby on thursday...dont take this the wrong way...you guys were awsum..and i mean awsum..
But the 5th member of the band was a BAG OF SHITE (sound engineer)... the sound was piss poor... i know it was in house rig and all that... but  theres no excuse for  that mix... it was way too bass guitar heavy and the kit sounded very poor.
the vocals were completely lost...most of the gig... and john,s keys were not loud enough all night... no where near loud enough.!
I hope your gonna tell it was the in-house engineer also...and you guys were in the hands of a engineer who did not know your songs etc etc... because if not..someone needs to have a word...
dont get me wrong i know the in-house PA system was piss poor...but i could have sorted your mix out in about 5 mins whilst i was there...and so could anyone of my friends who were with me...  we were all stood there absolutley gutted that one of our favorite all time bands were in front of us and playing live and not sounding like it should have sounded...everything was happening on stage, but not out front in the room.

sorry if this upsets anyone...but i am not alone in my opinion.

 love you guys.

          vince.
