Washington DC Native, Ross grew up surrounded by groundbreaking bands that ranged in style from hardcore punk to bluegrass to go-go (a hip hop-dance music hybrid). The home base of Fugazi, Duke Ellington, and Roberta Flack, DC provided a phenomenal musical springboard for the young singer, who also relied on the Beatles and her cassette player for practicing harmony.
Ivy has lived in New York, Europe, San Francisco, Vermont, Arizona and Oregon writing songs and working with youth. She has gathered musicians of all ages and musical backgrounds together to create bands that perform her original work and create new work. That said, the sound of her performances and recordings change often.
She teaches music locally through The Rock n Roll Camp for Girls, Creative Science School, Willow Tree and The DIY Lounge at collage.
You can hear/purchase Ivy's music at The Doorway Dwellers page. Link below.
We're playing a great show with The Joe McMurrian Quartet (now Woodbrain) and Eggplant this Thursday. It's a super solid evening of rocking roots music dripping in blues and jazz.
