In April 1998, God gave James Fortune the vision to start a youth ministry to focus on reaching youth through song and dance. This choir, based out of Houston, TX, at the time was called Youth For Christ. This group ranged between the ages of 11-21. Youth For Christ was blessed to minister all over the Greater Houston area at many churches, workshops, youth events and conferences. James Fortune and YFC presented so much energy and power on stage, which allowed other youth to see how awesome it is to praise God and having fun at the same time. James Fortune kept the focus on reaching out to young people who are dealing with struggles of peer pressure, drugs, fornication, clubs and all other acts of ungodliness. He promoted living a holy life pleasing and acceptable unto God. Fortune states, "The youth of today must realize that true happiness and fullness of joy is only found in the presence of Yahweh, our Heavenly Father".
In May 2000, Yahweh led Fortune to change the group name to FIYA (Free in Yahwehs Abundance). This name is based on the scripture John 10:10b, I come that you might have life and have it more abundantly. Fortune states, Our Fathers will is not for his children to live a defeated and broken life full of uncertainty and anxiety. Yahweh has promised us that blessings would overtake us if we would fully obey His Word!
Definitely, God has been blessing the ministry of James Fortune & FIYA. They have been blessed with the opportunity to open for various artists such as, John P Kee, Kim Burrell, Stevie Wonder, Mary Mary and many others. FIYA released their debut CD, January 2005 and through this CD, so many doors have opened. The single, "You Survived" soared as high as No.2 on Radio and Records and No. 5 on Billboard Radio Charts. "You Survived" was also listed as the No. 7 most played Gospel Song for the year of 2005. The group has also appeared on Bobby Jones Gospel, The Jeff Majors Show, TBN and Gospel Superfest 2005 just to name a few. James Fortune recently returned from the One Church Tour where he shared the platform w/ renowned Gospel artists such as, Kurt Carr, Vicki Yohe, RIZEN and Smokie Norful.
James Fortune and FIYA are still continuing to touch lives all across the country through their ministry. This group possesses a very special anointing that immediately pours in the presence of Yahweh and gets you excited about living for Christ. Their desire and focus is that lost souls can come to know Christ and experience the unconditional love and peace that he so freely gives. Just allow the words of their hit single, "You Survived" to minister to you, "After all that youve been through, now you know God carried you through the rain and the pain, you called and he came, YOU SURVIVED!"

Blessings, know that healing is the children bread, amen. If you have
any type of ailment be it mentally, physically and spiritually God
knows how to heal you just right where it hurts. You don't have to be a
victim but a victor, you can triumph over this (whatever this is) I
don't care how bad and ugly it look you can be made whole: be it in
your soul, body and or your spirit. If you are filled with the Holy
Ghost you have an investment, you have a treasure on the inside of you
and you are too valuable in the Kingdom of God to be wounded and not
heal, you must let healing begin. Don't allow another minute to go by
and not be heal in every area of your life, call on Jesus He is waiting
on you, don't let the devil see you sweat, put him under your feet and
keep him under your feet. You can make, you can walk this walk in
Jesus, you can soar on wings like an eagle. Arise above your
circumstances, come out from where you are don't delay be made whole in

Just had something on my heart that I wanted to share, I know some of you is dealing with some struggles in your life, but you can't give up, you must continue to be persistent even when you do not see results. God has promised in His word that He will never leave you nor forsake you. Keep pressing woman/man of God your help and hope is in the Lord. You must see your way out, call those things which be not as though they were. Speak to your circumstance to line up with the word of the Lord. The word of the Lord says in JEREMIAH 33:3 Call unto me and I will answer you, and show you great and mighjty things which thou knowest not. Where you are at right now don't stay in that place it will only bring death. I speak to your mind and your heart to come from that place and be FREE in the name of Jesus. You are coming out, you are going forth and you will live and not die and declare the works of the Lord, amen!! Again I am pleading with you to NOT GIVE UP, I LOVE YOU BUT GOD LOVES YOU MORE, HAVE A BLESSED DAY~~~
