I am also greatly influenced by the many talented and creative people and bands with whom I've been able to perform and collaborate. Paul Allodi, Rick Roman (New Society), King Casey (& Band), Dean Gavney, Michael Lynch, Lisa P. (Pellegrinetti), Radstarr (JWS/Junket), Jason Nelson (Junket), Karlye Lapetina, Mighty Joe, Paul McKinney, and countless others who will appear in cycles on my Top Friends' List. Though I'm cool with just about anyone who is willing to make the commitment to write, record, and share their original music with a larger audience.
Sounds Like
someone has been listening to an awful lot of R.E.M., Smithereens, Toad the Wet Sprocket, Robert Plant, and Sugar albums. Comfort music for people who miss the sounds of the alt-rock explosion of the late '80's/early '90's.
James Wayman is a musician, a music fan, and a writing teacher at an alternative education program in Rockford. Since 1993, James has held the bass guitar role for several bands, including New Society, Pi, JWS, the Shards, Junket, Since I Was 3, and Hit List, as well as backing a number of solo performers (Paul Allodi, John Metzger, Jim Henning, King Casey [Lanken], and Karlye Lapetina).
In summer of 2006, James decided to take on the challenge of writing, performing, and recording an album of original music. The resulting album, HEALING SONGS, was independently released in January of 2008. The cd can be purchased online at CDBaby.com, or at most Since I Was 3 performances. You can purchase downloads of the individual songs at iTunes (via Power Search), DigStation.com, and at Amie Street. A 5 minute sample of the record is available for download from this page.
At this time, James is entertaining offers to produce album projects. James is knee-deep in the Arthur Daniels & James Wayman project, and is presently preparing to work with Radstarr on a new project in Summer '09. In addition to HEALING SONGS, James's production credits also include work on the NOT THAT PERFECT ep, with and for former Junket/JWS bandmate, Adam "Radstarr" Franklin and the soon-to-be-released TIME SPENT ep with Arthur Daniels. In his free time, James is in the writing stages for a followup solo recording tentatively titled THE GIVING GAME which will hopefully be available sometime in 2010.

Yeah, things are great and busy. Lately I have been getting hired out to do video work for musicians. Let me know if you need anything done. Examples of my work are on YouTube look for Greg Boerner and the songs Ramblin Man/Blue Sky, Someday, This Love, Thing of Her Own. Still jammin to your CD. Maybe we could hang in late July. See ya.
You are the sweetest ever and we miss you guys like crazy!! Next time we are out you either have to be playing out so we can come see or you have to come drink with us!! Or hey - Nashville IS Music City and we have a spare bed and some couches....
Great to see you yesterday. Good job on the session. And thanks for bringing me a copy of your CD. It turned out great. I'm really happy for you lad. One of the coolest projects I've ever been involved in. You rock!
Wow the cover looks great! Is the record really out and where should we order it from! I'm pumped to hear it on the stereo at home and drink some beers to it:) BTW, thanks for all the compliments, but most importantly the help! Merry Christmas rockstar!
Hey James, I think the songs are really starting to sound good, thanks for your guidance and time, it doesn't go unappreciated! Though we but heads sometimes, I think you have great ideas, and we could make some hits! Matter of fact, I think the producer role suits you very fine, and you might be gearing up to produce your "Nevermind/Butch Vig" LP soon, especially if you keep on in this fashion with other bands. Thanks, Adam
