About this pop singer-songwriter
Tools of artistry: vocals, piano, and guitar
Jenni Alpert is a Los Angeles native. She took up piano at the age 3 and guitar at age 14. After accepting a music scholarship as a vocalist to UCLA's Ethnomusicology program, Jenni began writing her own material and recorded her first independent album. Since graduating UCLA, she has independently released several recordings and extensively tours the US and internationally performing in over 14 countries throughout the North West, Southern, and Eastern regions of the US as well as in The UK (England, Ireland, Scotland), France, The Netherlands, Italy, and Australia. She has supported Loudon Wainright and Kaki King, and has shared stages with Regina Spektor, and Sara Bareilles among others.
A number of Jenni's songs have been featured in several TV shows and films.
TV: Lipstick Jungle (Simple Mood), The Real World (With One Breath), CSI Miami (Breakin Down), The Messengers (CBS) (Fade Away). FILM: "Chasing the Green" (awarded the Directors Choice Gold Award at the Park City Film Festival Jan 09) directed by Russ Emanuel; starring Jeremy London, Ryan Hurst, and Heather McComb features (All We Need is Love and 'With One Breath').
In the studio Jenni is currently working on new material with Brad Smith (Blind Melon / producer), Jimmy Paxson (drummer, Stevie Nicks / producer), and Eric Boulanger (engineer / producer). She has also worked with Marshall Altman (producer / songwriter), Nathaniel Kunkel (producer / engineer), Steve Greenberg (producer, A and R), Julian Coryell (producer / songwriter), Niko Bolas (mixing), George Massenburg (mastering, Blackbird Studio), Musicians include Jimmy Paxson, Russ Kunkel, Viktor Krauss, Matt Rollings, Daryl Johnson, Deron Johnson, Chris Chaney, and Zac Rae. Co-writes include: Marshall Altman, Ben Peeler, Kori Withers, Sjoerd Neggers (Netherlands), Simon Hunter, DJ Harry, Brendan Willing James, Rick O Shay.
Festivals and workshops: SXSW, Sundance Film Festival, Folk Alliance, NAMM, CMJ, and the ASCAP Lester Sill Songwriting workshop. Awards: Song of the Year for the Independent Music Awards (All We Need is Love).
