Most movies with Bogart, Cagney, Flynn, Astaire and Rogers, The Marx Brothers, and Edward G. Robinson. | | Television | Mainly just the old shows I grew up with since I hardly watch television, except for baseball games, old movies, and the news. I listen to a lot of old time radio shows because I can do that while doing comic books. But without George Reeves' Superman, and Adam West's Batman, I wonder if I'd have wanted to become a comic book artist. | | Books | Way too many to list, but some favorite subjects are: baseball, American History, Fine Art, and biographies of people I find interesting. I don't get to read as much as I used to, so I listen to lot of audio books. | | Heroes | Roberto Clemente, Jack Kirby, Joe Sinnott, John Lennon, Arlo Guthrie, Robert Crumb, Groucho Marx, Jack Benny, George Reeves, Edward R. Murrow, Jackie Robinson, Hank Aaron, Everett Raymond Kinstler, Stan Goldberg, George Herriman, Winsor McCay, Van Gogh, Leonardo Da Vinci, Albrecht Durer, Giorgio Vasari, David McCullough, Benjamin Franklin, Teddy Roosevelt, John Adams, Abraham Lincoln, George Washington, and Walter Barker, my mentor. |

About me:
I have a Masters Degree in Fine Art and exhibited work in galleries and museums before becoming a comic book artist in 1992. I ran Acme Comics in Greensboro, NC for almost nine years and put on seven comic book conventions. I'm also the associate editor and interviewer for Alter Ego magazine, which covers the Golden and Silver Ages of comic books. I've worked for all the major comic book companies, Disney, and Warner Brothers, and currently freelance for Archie Comics. Roy Thomas and I co-wrote the John Romita and All That Jazz biography which is still available from Twomorrows.com. My next book, Sal Buscema: Comics Fast and Furious Artist, will hopefully hit the stores in November. My good friend Eric Nolen-Weathington will co-edit, transcribe the interview tapes, do the layouts, and make sure we all look great!

Who I'd like to meet:
So many of those I'd like to meet are no longer with us. I've been fortunate enough to have met many of my heroes. Mainly, I like to talk to people who are interesting and like to share points of views. I don't judge people by their politics (well, if you were a Nazi or a Klan member, I'd make an exception) or religion. I met Arlo Guthrie once, but would love to have a conversation with him. I'd also like to meet Hank Aaron, Manny Sanguillen, David McCullough (as well as several other historians), Ringo Starr, Josh White, Jr., among others.
