Sounds Like
A drunken brawl between Elvis, Bruce Springsteen, The Beatles, Burt Bacharach and James Last.
J.J. Ipsen is a pretty simple guy. He uses what’s around him to create achingly catchy folk-torch pop diamonds-in-the-rough. “J.J. Ipsen’s Laundry” contains eight of these diamonds, inspired by books, film, love, friends and Labatt 50. Written in greenhouses, music shops, bedrooms and car seats, they’re your favourite shirt, your beaten-up jeans and your reliable sweater.
“J.J. Ipsen’s Laundry” was made possible with the cooperation of many of Ipsen’s pals. Most of the players hail from Woodstock, ON and also play in many other musical ensembles. Roped into helping were co-producer and engineer in chief Justin Nace, Michael Christoff, and Aaron Curtis (Two-Minute Miracles, Andy Swan) AJ Johnson, Dustin Seabrook and Thom Hammerton to complete this collection of recordings.
Drawing on influences like Rufus Wainwright, Wilco and Brian Wilson, Ipsen writes songs that reflect a high degree of musicality and lyrics that are both thoughtful and insightful. With a strong background in English literature and music, J.J. and friends are currently hashing out new material for a full length recording and tour later this year. A fresh, comfortable and honest new voice in Toronto’s bustling music scene, “J.J. Ipsen’s Laundry” isn’t the second coming, it’s just a small collection of clever songs from the heart.
Other people say this:
There’s something very rewarding about doing the laundry; the sorting, the waiting, the folding and the sense of satisfaction at the very end. You will note a similar feeling upon listening to Toronto singer-songwriter, wordsmith and poet J.J. Ipsen’s debut EP, “J.J. Ipsen’s Laundry”. Over the course of eight well-crafted songs, Ipsen airs out his dirty laundry and lets it hang out to dry for all to bear witness. There are stains, patches, wear and tears that all tell their own enduring story.

Ipsen's music encompasses everything from folk, to jazz, to rock with arrangements that can only please the ear. What is evident in all the tracks, is Ipsen's comfortable and confident harmonies. With the help of veteran musicians and a talented producer Justin Nace (of The Two Minute Miracles) Ipsen successfully completed a wonderful preview to a what I hope will be a fruitful career. Having personally seen J.J. reduce his audience to a puddle of tears more than once, it's easy to say that he shoots from the heart.

Finn and I have been listening to your excellent music every morning for the past three days in anticipation for your show. Needless to say I'm maaad pumped about the show but he's a little sad that babies aren't allowed to go. Also his bedtime is 8:00. At least I'll be there, pal.
this
interview is HIGHLY recommended! Drunvalo Melchizedek discussed the
great Earth activations fueling 2012 and what the Mayan Elders knew
about the pending changes. He explained that the universe goes through
cycles and that when the latest cycle reaches its conclusion, believed
by many to be on December 21st, 2012, a massive shift of the Earth's
poles will take place. Depending on how long this polar shift lasts, he
said, the effects on human memory and the mind as well as the Earth's
crust could be dire.
Melchizedek, who has spent over 25
years working with the Mayans, detailed what they have told him about
these impending Earth changes. He revealed that the Mayans believe that
the infamous date in December of 2012 is actually "the least likely
day" for anything to happen. According to the them, the event will take
place during a window of time which began on October 24th, 2007 and
ends in 2015. Melchizedek pointed to the outburst of the Comet Holmes
in October of 2007 as the prophesied harbinger of "the moment when the
End of Time began."
Rather than fear these potential Earth
changes, Melchizedek said that the Mayans see the period as "a time to
celebrate and be excited about," because it will result in positive
advancements for humankind. "Yes, there's a lot of destruction," he
said, "but there's brand new birth. A new humanity is born." Based on
what he has learned about the Mayan prophecies, the impending event
will result in humans entering into the 4th dimension where "whatever
we think or feel happens. It's a whole new ballgame."

Money is a lie.
well, any point of view has it's opposite. money is a lie. work for pay makes us slaves to currency. the lie is monetary payment for service. the truth is volunteer. the world is becoming more and more automated, and instead of an easier life for the majority.. the rule we are under forces a tighter noose around our collective neck. the truth is we are all human and all equal. same goes for all life on earth. the reason we pay for anything is that someone thought they owned a thing. the truth is shared.
dont subscribe to the religion, money. I have a dream. my dream is real.
Thanks so much for 'trading spaces' with us JJ ! You've got some very cool sounds going on here in your space ~ All the best with it ! janet + phil x 2
