About me:
I’m a guy. A mystery wrapped in an enigma, topped with whimsey, sprinkled with chopped black olives, smothered in melted cheddar. I am a bundle of diverse and eclectic tastes. Among my current and past likes and obsessions have been (and are): Nigella Lawson, Kid Creole and the Coconuts, Julie London, finding a perfect plate of curry goat, Cyrano DeBergerac, Beach Party movies, the first five James Bond movies, American popular culture in general, Linda O’Neil, “capping”, Big Band music from the Forties, a good bowl of chili, good beer, pin-up art by Elvgren, the paintings of performers on stage by Degas, the “Road To...” movies starring Bing and Bob, Ernie Kovacs, The Goon Show, My Name Is Earl, the 1960s in general, yadayadayada, etcetera.
I’m from Detroit originally, and moved to Southern California in 1963, been living in Bellflower (the city that time forgot), since 1968. I am single, though not exactly by choice. God, Fate or Circumstance decreed my mate should pass on back in 2002. I have spent a period of time spiraling and flailing after losing her. I’ve got the flailing part under control, and I’ve slowed the spiral. Now, I’m just trying to figure out what to do with the final act of this badly written play that has been my life.
