This page, not maintained by Judge Bone, is set up to introduce his debut for Bone Voyage Recording Company: The almost solo, live-in-the-garage recorded Big Bear’s Gate that reaches from the chilling Siberian deep blues and ancient Scottish murder ballad of Bonnie George Campbell to the wreckless rock mayhem of You Hate Me & My Stetson Hat, 17 and In Misery, Train, Train, Train and 15 000 Heads. Those fast songs feature the crunch-funk drumming of the honorable Judge’s right hand man, Doc Hill, who really is a medical doctor on top of being a stimulatingly idiosyncratic percussionist.
An important role on Big Bear's Gate has the Guitar sound and Judge's playing. Throughout the album he uses only one instrument, though it’s hard to believe. It’s a unique custom-made box-guitar with special microphones. Judge often plays it with an octaver to magnify the low end and to get some delicious microtones and drones from it.
Judge Bone aka Tuomari Nurmio, though he is a new face to the world at large, in Finland he is highly respected by several generations. Not counting compilations, he has so far made 17 albums in Finland. All of them, except two, are in Finnish, and they cover a lot of stylistic ground. Many of them are solid classics in Finland.
