    I studied music and drama at Studio Herman Teirlinck, Antwerp, Belgium. I started composing during my studies and did several solo projects. In 2006 I put James Joyce' s poetic cycle "Chamber Music" to music and turned this composition into a performance with Ton van der Meer (NL) and Joachim Badenhorst (BE), using both acoustic and electronic instruments. We toured with "Chamber Music" through Belgium and the Netherlands and we' ll be recording the project in 2011. At the end of 2006 I released my first full album "wide and low and swallow" on the Dutch label Warrelwind. On this album I play and sing in trio with Belgian jazz musicians Joachim Badenhorst (clarinets) and Yves Peeters (drums). This trio toured through Belgium and the Netherlands for a couple of years. In 2007 we appeared on Dutch national television and radio ("Vrije Geluiden" VPRO, "Cantina" VPRO). As an actress I played I in different theatre plays, Lars Norén' s "Oorlog" for Theater Zuidpool, Jorgen Cassier' s "Strandwandeling" for ToNAc vzw and Tom Hannes' "Kop" for Walpurgis. I played in Tim Mielants' short film "The Sunflyers" and in "super 8". In 2010 I recorded my second studio album, produced by Eric Thielemans. Recorded in studio 102 by Jo Volckerijck and mixed by Christine Verschorren. This project has been released on the 6th of May 2011 in CC Luchtbal.

    On "Hit of the century", produced by Eric Thielemans (B), I play with Nico Roig (ESP), Jozef Dumoulin (B), Alexander Berne (USA), Mauro Pawlowski (B), Michel Massot (B), Nicolas Thys (B), Jorgen Cassier (B) and Eric himself. The music has been released on the 6th of May in CC Luchtbal, Antwerp. "Wide and low and swallow" is Kaat Hellings (piano and voice), Joachim Badenhorst (clarinet and bassclarinet), Yves Peeters (drums and percussion).
