On the coming record, wich is produced by Eric Thielemans, I play with Nico Roig, Jozef Dumoulin, Alexander Berne, Michel Massot, Nicolas Thys, Jorgen Cassier and Eric himself.
The cd will be released on the 3th of april 2010.

I studied music, drama and songwriting at studio Herman Teirlinck, Antwerp. During this period I started composing and did several solo projects. In 2002 I formed a trio with jazz musicians Joachim Badenhorst (clarinet) and Yves Peeters (drums). We recorded our first album "wide and low and swallow", on the warrelwind label, which is released on 6 December 2006 in The Netherlands and on 19 December 2006 in Belgium.
In 2007 I put music to James Joyce' poems cycle "Chamber Music" together with Ton van der Meer and Joachim Badenhorst. This project was a cooperation between 'Theater Antigone' (B) and de 'Veenfabriek' (NL). I played in a music and theater performance called "En volgend jaar uw kop" (Walpurgis). Now I' m working on a second album, together with Eric Thielemans and other musicians. We have our release on the 3th of april 2010!!!!!!

The 31th edition of Jazz Hoeilaart: Join the Contest!

If you are an ambitious jazzgroup with young musicians you can inscribe for the Jazz Hoeilaart Contest 2009 until the 15th of may. The festival, which is organised by Muziekmozaïek in collaboration with vzw De Rand, will take place from the 24th until the 26th of September and is intended for young international Jazz talent.
The 30-years old festival has its reputation for bringing international talent into the spotlights. Many known artists, such as Rosario Guiliani, Michiel Borstlap, Magnus Lindgren, Alexi Tuomarila and Robin Verheyen were on stage at this international contest.
The 31st edition of the contest will open on Thursday the 24th of September 2009. Until the 26th of September six finalists will perform in a contest-formula. Each evening will close with performances of Jack Van Poll/ Jef Neve/ Bart Van Caeneghem/ Ewout Pierreux (24/09), Hijaz (25/09), en Cintia Rodriguez (26/09). Ambitious young musicians can inscribe for the contest-section until the 15th of May 2009.
