Toad the Wet Sprocket, Our Lady Peace, Jimmy Eat World, Oasis, and R.E.M. on acoustic guitars.
Hello, my name is Kevin, nice to meet you. Thanks for checking out my MySpace page. I know this is a music page and I am supposed to have a "band bio" here, but I'd like to keep this page a little more personal. So, this is my "about me" section:
I started playing guitar and writing music when I was in my early teens. In 1998, some high school friends and I formed Highball, an alternative/hard rock band based in the Cleveland area. That band [with various lineup changes] survived for about seven years until it's demise in 2005.
After Highball's breakup, I started writing, recording, and performing as a solo singer/songwriter. In 2006, I finished my first solo album of mainly acoustic material entitled More Than What You See. I'm really happy with the way the album turned out. If you like what you are hearing, it would be great if you would help out a poor musician by buying my CD by clicking on the CDBaby link below, or buying the tracks from iTunes, Napster, or Rhapsody. The album was recorded at Creekside Audio in Norton, OH.
In early 2009, I completed work on and released a stand-alone full-band single entitled, "Canadian Girl", again, working at Creekside Audio. The song is quirky, fun, up-beat song about a hopeless romantic singer-songwriter with a fondness for a girl, who happens to be Canadian. The song as kind of a Barenaked Ladies feel to it with its 90's alt rock sound, lighthearted lyrics, and a big hook. The song is available for download on iTunes, Amazon mp3, Napster, Rhapsody, and any other major online retailer.

I am currently working on a new 3-song demo of full-band material. The demo consists of the songs "What Does It Take", "I Used to Feel So Alone", and "Paradise"; the latter two previously appeared on More Than What You See as acoustic songs. I recorded this demo in Ventura, CA, with the members of the bands Army of Freshmen and Le Meu Le Purr. The recordings are upbeat, poppy alternative rockers; they're loaded with big catchy hooks, and are the best-sounding recordings that I have made to date. I'm looking at a late-2009 or early-2010 release for the demo.
As far as my music goes, I tend to draw a lot of influence from alternative bands such as Toad the Wet Sprocket, Our Lady Peace, R.E.M., Oasis, and Jimmy Eat World to name a few. However, there are some progressive elements in my music as well that comes from being a fan of such bands as Porcupine Tree, Pink Floyd, and Queensryche.
I place a lot of emphasis on melody and the hook of a song; I want my songs to be stuck in your head for hours after you hear them (but in a good way, like the chorus to "Hey Jude"; not in a bad way, like a Limp Bizkit song or a Dane Cook joke). I also try to make my lyrics intelligent and meaningful. All that being said, though, I try not to take myself too seriously, and I like to have fun with my songs and at my shows.
As for what else I do... I am working on an MBA at the University of Akron, and work part-time on campus. I have contributed writing to DomainCleveland.com. I enjoy all aspects of music, love going to concerts, and have a rather extensive music collection. I like going to see movies, plays, and comedy shows (I've even tried my hand at some stand-up comedy here and there). I enjoy playing and watching sports, and am a huge Cleveland sports fan.
So there you have it. If you like my music, tell a friend. If you hate it, tell an enemy.

Thanks for reaching out, man. I enjoyed your writing too. We realized that our dog was running next to you and your lady while you were on the beach(sunday after the gig), we didn't recognize you two until you were crossing the road, I was picking up poop in the sand!
