   About Kevin Conaway
Hello, my name is Kevin, nice to meet you. Thanks for checking out my MySpace page. I know this is a music page and I am supposed to have a "band bio" here, but I'd like to keep this page a little more personal. So, this is my "about me" section:

I started playing guitar and writing music when I was in my early teens. In 1998, some high school friends and I formed Highball, an alternative/hard rock band based in the Cleveland area. That band [with various lineup changes] survived for about seven years until it's demise in 2005.

After Highball's breakup, I started writing, recording, and performing as a solo singer/songwriter. In 2006, I finished my first solo album of mainly acoustic material entitled More Than What You See. I'm really happy with the way the album turned out. If you like what you are hearing, it would be great if you would help out a poor musician by buying my CD by clicking on the CDBaby link below, or buying the tracks from iTunes, Napster, or Rhapsody. The album was recorded at Creekside Audio in Norton, OH.

In early 2009, I completed work on and released a stand-alone full-band single entitled, "Canadian Girl", again, working at Creekside Audio. The song is quirky, fun, up-beat song about a hopeless romantic singer-songwriter with a fondness for a girl, who happens to be Canadian. The song as kind of a Barenaked Ladies feel to it with its 90's alt rock sound, lighthearted lyrics, and a big hook. The song is available for download on iTunes, Amazon mp3, Napster, Rhapsody, and any other major online retailer.
/
I am currently working on a new 3-song demo of full-band material. The demo consists of the songs "What Does It Take", "I Used to Feel So Alone", and "Paradise"; the latter two previously appeared on More Than What You See as acoustic songs. I recorded this demo in Ventura, CA, with the members of the bands Army of Freshmen and Le Meu Le Purr. The recordings are upbeat, poppy alternative rockers; they're loaded with big catchy hooks, and are the best-sounding recordings that I have made to date. I'm looking at a late-2009 or early-2010 release for the demo.

As far as my music goes, I tend to draw a lot of influence from alternative bands such as Toad the Wet Sprocket, Our Lady Peace, R.E.M., Oasis, and Jimmy Eat World to name a few. However, there are some progressive elements in my music as well that comes from being a fan of such bands as Porcupine Tree, Pink Floyd, and Queensryche.

I place a lot of emphasis on melody and the hook of a song; I want my songs to be stuck in your head for hours after you hear them (but in a good way, like the chorus to "Hey Jude"; not in a bad way, like a Limp Bizkit song or a Dane Cook joke). I also try to make my lyrics intelligent and meaningful. All that being said, though, I try not to take myself too seriously, and I like to have fun with my songs and at my shows.

As for what else I do... I am working on an MBA at the University of Akron, and work part-time on campus. I have contributed writing to DomainCleveland.com. I enjoy all aspects of music, love going to concerts, and have a rather extensive music collection. I like going to see movies, plays, and comedy shows (I've even tried my hand at some stand-up comedy here and there). I enjoy playing and watching sports, and am a huge Cleveland sports fan.

So there you have it. If you like my music, tell a friend. If you hate it, tell an enemy.
~k

We are currently taking time off from playing shows to work on a full length album. This is going to be our last show in Akron for awhile, but you know what that means, SHIT IS GOING TO HIT THE FUCKING FAN ! ! ! You thought Summit Mall was nuts ..YOU AIN'T SEEN SHIT ! ! ! the place is going to be packed! ..Packed, drunk, and disorderly!

For those of you who aren't yet familiar with our stuff, i beg you to just give it a listen, I promise you'll like at least one song. The sound quality of the recordings suck, but it gets the piont across enough, and the songs are fucking amazing! Also for the people who've listend to us and liked us, but weren't sure how far we were planning on taking it, to set the record straight we plan on taking this all the way. We bust our asses everyday for this shit. By Halloween of 2010 (2 years exactly from the day we played our first show) we will be the biggest upcoming band in Ohio, there's not a dout in my mind.

Anyway thanks for taking the time to read this, its much appreciated. also just as all bands do, we're always happy to get feedback of any kind, for anything at anytime.  thanks again!   - GB.45

thanks so much for being our myspace friend, ment what we said you got some good shit! nice to other good local stuff! here is a little bit about our band:

"We are four unemployed henchmen that started a band to rock out for Satan. First off we're broke as fuck so if anybody has a job for us,or anything they need "TAKEN CARE OF" we're your mother fucken niggas. We're trying to get fucking payed out this bitch.
Second,..bitches: we have big ass dicks and we want to fuck. when you come to our shows, you better wear something sexy as hell, we're not fucking around we will punch you in the fucking face! and if you bring a friend tell her "prepare to get fucked" and "you better be good at sucking cocks mother fucker"......etc. thanks for checking us out, we hope you like the tunes. -GB.45"

P.S. the quality of our recordings is crap but the songs are fucking awesome, let us know what you think, thanx!
