Described as emotional without being emo; melodic without being pop; and aggressive without being punk, KID GIB deliver "delicious harmonies and hooks that you could eat for breakfast!"
(Chart Magazine).
KID GIB recorded their first full-length album at Catherine North Studios in Hamilton in 2003, teaming up with producer Dan Achen (City and Colour, The Marble Index). The album consisted of 11 pure double time pop punk anthems; enough to receive airplay on College radio across Ontario, and sell copies from Germany to Japan.
As their borders in Ontario quickly became outgrown, the boys once again hit the studio in the winter of 2005 with City and Colour producer Dan Achen to record their second full-length, and some would call, debut record. In the fall of that year the band took 4 of the album's 10 completed songs and hit the road; playing shows with bands like Goldfinger, Hedley, The Planet Smashers, Protest The Hero, The Reason, and Punchline.
For the bulk of 2006, KID GIB toured relentlessly, selling thousands of copies of their aptly titled 4 song "Sampler," across 28 US States and most of eastern Canada. Months of touring in the US were recently capped by the band's "Spring Bling" Tour, in which the boys traveled from Michigan to Texas, Florida to Virginia, and all points in between during a blistering five week run.
With the release of their self-titled debut album on May 1st, 2007, KID GIB continued to pound the pavement all across Canada and the USA teaming up with the likes of Shiny Toy Guns, Faber Drive, and Mariana's Trench among others. Two music videos with airplay on MUCHMUSIC, and two radio singles later, KID GIB set their sights somewhere completely different...
2008 brought the release of KID GIB's debut record on Kick Rock Invasion in Japan! The boys went right to work, crossing the ocean, and landed in Japan for the Beyond The Blue Tour 2008. Teaming up with Decaydance's FOUR YEAR STRONG, and Fearless's EVERY AVENUE, KID GIB took over Tokyo, Nagoya, and Osaka in an intense week long Japanese tour.
