   About kimono
is an experimental rock trio hailing from Reykjavik, Iceland and Halifax, Nova Scotia.

Their sound mixes the darkness of the Icelandic winters with the energy of its summers and like the place of their birth they exude contrast. kimono creates new musical vocabularies with their weaving guitars and drums like the shadows cast from a nuclear explosion. Prepare for meltdown!

kimono is made up of Gylfi Blöndal (guitar), Alex MacNeil (guitar and vocals) and Kjartan Bragi Bjarnason (drums). They have released three full-length albums including their debut in 2003 (”Mineur Aggressif”), the critically acclaimed “Arctic Death Ship” in 2005 and the experimental “all music recorded” in 2007, the last one in collaboration with Icelandic producer Curver (of Ghostigital).

kimono took up residence in Berlin in 2005 and toured extensively around Germany, England, Ireland, Austria and Switzerland to follow up the release of “Arctic Death Ship” on the mainland. They got excellent reviews for both the album and their live shows from countless media and were written up as one of the 10 bands to watch in 2006 in Germany by the country's largest music publication, Intro.

kimono is now back in Iceland working on their fourth LP, called Easy Music for Difficult People, which will be out early in 2009. The radio-single "Wire" was a hit in numerous Icelandic radio stations and is a teaser for the upcoming album.

Hey there...

I'm just messaging people that have commented on our page:)

We really need your help!

We are in a race to record a full album for free at Canada's #1 STUDIO! Metalworks.

Please take a second and vote for us at:
http://www.4therekord.com/html/rules.php

If you do a 'super-vote' email your address to bookings@trainlightband.com and we will send you a signed CD - and you will get into our next concert in your area free.

If you're not an Ontario resident let us know - because you have to use an Ontario address!

All the best!

Christian (Trainlight)

p.s. just posted another song ...
In a nut-shell its about that feeling of lonliness we all have - sometimes someone doesn't understand you - actually most of the time... kinda hard especially when you really want them to 'get it' - its called 'let you go';

I'm very appreciated your comment! and sorry, it's a bit tough for me to type in English.
Furthermore, I have no something special achievements in music.
But anyway, I'll try it in near future.
I love your music! I love Iceland.
I wish I were born in there.....
