About *The North Shore Ramblers* Kirby, Yates & Mazurek
Allan Kirby, Jim Yates, and David Mazurek have combined to form a dynamic “roots” music trio that plays music from all corners of the music world. Their audiences enjoy a unique blend of folk, blues, country, bluegrass, jazz and classical music. Their musical arrangements and stage presentation are suitable for audiences of all ages, musical tastes, and backgrounds. The trio combines vocals with instrumentals that feature fiddle, banjo, mandolin, guitar, dobro, and harmonica.

David "Zeke" Mazurek has been a professional violinist for over 35 years, enjoying the music of all cultures. He has toured with or been a member of such internationally recognized groups and entertainers as Sylvia Tyson and Great Speckled Bird, Stringband, Prairie Oyster, Willie P. Bennett and Sneezy Waters. Zeke has performed in concerts, festivals, folk clubs, on radio, TV and movies across Canada, the US and Europe. He has released three CDs and is currently working on a fourth.

Allan Kirby plays banjo, guitar, and dobro and enjoys a blend of folk, country, blues, bluegrass, and jazz. Allan has a B.A in music from Queen’s University and a M.Ad.Ed from St. Francis Xavier University. For the past 30 years he has taught music privately and played on recordings. He also played guitar and pedal-steel guitar with Washboard Hank, Dennis O’Toole, Jon Piper and Matchbox; and banjo with the bluegrass band McCormick. Allan recently collaborated on several CD projects and released a solo CD.

Jim Yates plays guitar, banjo, mandolin, Autoharp and harmonica and has a passion for traditional folk music and an interest in Freddie Green's swing- style rhythm guitar. He played with folk music ensembles such as Late For Dinner and The Piper’s Hut. Jim was an organizer of Cobourg’s popular folk music series, “Folk At The Forum.” He played guitar and mandolin in bluegrass bands Buck and Loose Change and McCormick and recently played on several recording projects, including solo albums by Steve Hogg, Greg Hobbs, Zeke Mazurek and Allan Kirby.

Over the years, trio members, Kirby, Yates, and Mazurek, have played venues such as Toronto's Glen Gould Studio, Halifax’s Victoria Theatre, Port Hope’s Capitol Theatre, Lindsay’s Academy Theatre, Shelter Valley Folk Festival, Peterborough Folk Festival, Fred Eaglesmith Invitational Charity Picnic, The Mariposa Folk Festival, Palmer Rapids Bluegrass Festival, River Valley Bluegrass Festival, Winnipeg Folk Festival, Edmonton Folk Festival, Ottawa Folk Festival, Blue Skies Folk Festival, Cobourg Harvest Festival and more beer joints and concert halls than you want to hear about.

Hey Zeke!
Since you are in touch with Sneezy Waters, I wonder if you could find out if the movie he starred in, HANK WILLIAMS: THE SHOW HE NEVER GAVE is available for purchase anywhere. It had a section that featured Jackie Washington, and my wife, Donna, also appeared as a bit player. I would like to see it again and have it to see (and hear)whenever I wanted.
And a Howdy to Jim & Al too. Fancy meeting you here. Hope to see all 3 of you sometime soon.
