Klear is back...so you better hold on!
After a 4 year sabbatical, original singer/songwriter Fred Shafer has returned to Klear to finish what he started with original members Bruce Wojick, Leo McDonald and Denny Pelczynski.
Klear formed in 2001 and after 2 EP’s released “7500 Miles” in 2002. The Armand Petri(Goo Goo Dolls, Sixpense,10,000 Manicas) produced album was a huge success for the band. The first single, "All On Me", hit number one on competing stations simultaneously 103.3 WEDG (Citadel) and 92.9 WBUF (Infinity) - an unheard of accomplishment for an independent band. “Beautiful End” was prominently featured in the Sundance Film Festival winner and Miramax hit "The Station Agent", "Comeback" was used on the FX series "The Shield" and "Mr. Cracker" was included on "As Real As It Gets" / Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC). Also, the music video for “Down” received great reviews and support on RAGE TV in Australia.
This success allowed Klear to start sharing the stage with artists that include Kid Rock, Chuck Berry, Staind, Goo Goo Dolls, Gov’t Mule, Saliva,D12, Tea Party and many, many more. In addition to playing some of the most prestigious clubs in the US like the Vipor Room, House of Blues (Mandalay Bay/ Las Vegas), Whisky A Go Go, CBGB's, Six Flags Darien Lake and The Key Club, Klear became a feature of Buffalo's Thursday in The Square Concert Series, drawing more than 15,000 people 3 times.
Klear found support and features in national publications as well, such as Billboard Magazine, Hit Parader and Vanity Fair, and regional press throughout the country. They also became a part of Budweiser’s “True Music Series” for 2 years.
In 2004, Klear signed with the Robby Takac(bassist for Goo Goo Dolls) owned Good Charamel Records. They released “Makin’ Noise” later that year, which featured singles “Picture” and “Bridge Song”.
In December 2004, Fred left Klear to pursue a solo career. He released 2 EP’s, “Truth or Dare” in 2006 and the Mike Mushok(guitarist in Staind) produced, “The Fred Shafer EP” in 2008. Klear went on to recruit longtime friend and Stemm vocalist, Joe Caffarella, to release “10 Seconds To Burn” in 2008.
But the boys have FINALLY reunited and are Makin’ Noise again! Klear is currently booking shows throughout the end of 2008 and are now preparing to record NEW MUSIC. And so begins the next chapter in the bands career...
Keep it Klear y’all!
