Koko Taylor was my biggest hero of the female blues singers! I remember when my friend brought me her album "Earthshaker". I was totally blown away with her intensive singing voice and interpretation and I became a fan instantly! Her music and spirit will live forever!

RIP Koko Taylor, you were so nice to me every time I saw you. I knew all of your songs, word by word, growl by growl. You were very important to me and I will forever miss you.

This beautiful lady was never ours. God just loved us enough to loan her to us. Heaven's choir sounds a little sweeter now that she has been called back home. She was an inspiration to us all.

A finer lady never graced this earth! She was never too big for the "folks" and took the time to really talk with my son when we met. Bless her, for she blessed us all with her spirit she shared with her beautiful voice and smile!

I'm sure gonna miss you looking down the stairs from your room saying "Hey yall". Mom before I met you I was raised from a little girl listening to Wang Dang Doodle as I pasted the tavern that my uncle hung out in. Never in my life time did I think that I would have the pleasure to meet you, not less have the honor of calling you Mom and my children calling you Grandma. I was so honored that you came to my company party and sang the employee's into sheer delight, but I was even more honored that I had the opportunity to be the first out of 13 soloist to sing at your funeral. I believe that I made you proud. I love you and will miss you dearly!

Love Phyllis
