The Italian progressive metal band Last Warning was born in 1987; since then it has been collecting a large live experience in the north of Italy, performing also as opening band for Carcass, Doctor and The Medics, Uriah Heep and Extrema. At the end of 1992 the band recorded “BLOODY DREAM”, its first self produced demo-tape. The demo was praised by the critics both in Italy and abroad and was reprinted in more than 800 copies; thanks to it and to the song “FAITH AND MISERY” the band had the opportunity to partecipate in a CD compilation of the most important Italian progressive metal bands, produced by the label Underground Simphony. In 1994 the band recorded a second demo-tape which was exclusively distributed to specialized magazines and record companies. Among several proposals “ Last Warning “ signed a contract with the German label W.M.M.S. owned by Peter Wustmann for the realization of their debut album. In fact, in the same year the album “FROM THE FLOOR OF THE WELL” was recorded at the Roxanne Studio in Stuttgard. Positively presented by the national and international critics, it was also reviewed by severals specialized magazines in Japan, Usa, Cuba, Brasil, Germany, France, Portugal and Greece. In May 2000 a further album entitled “UNDER A SPELL” came out for the already known Underground Simphony, recorded at the Zenith studio in Lucca. In this new work, the band also experienced the mixture between metal and lyrical music with the important help of the soprano Isabella Comand who appeared in two songs. In the summer of 2002 the Last Warning began to work on their third album which joins the musical production of the latest years. In January 2006 the band completed its new work, recorded once again at Zenith Recordings in Lucca by Frank Andiver, Labyrinth’s ex-drummer and now producer of Oracle Sun and Wonderland. Subsequently, in May-April 2007 the cd was remastered by Alessandro Vanara at Metal House.

1994 “FROM THE FLOOR OF THE WELL” produced by WMMS

From the Floor of the Well, produced by Peter Wustman, was recorded and mixed at ROXANNE STUDIO in Leonberg (Stutgard) by Davide Piai and was released for the German Label WMMS in 1995. The album contains four songs from the ’92 demo Bloody Dream plus other four songs which were written afterwords and included in a promo cd esclusively produced for the record labels. From the Floor of the Well offers a classical heavy metal with prog shades and melodies with an epic taste. The lyrics develop different subject and themes: from the social ones to the descriptive ones typical of this genre. A good promotion made the album famous all over the world: fom Japan to Brasil, from the States to Russia. Many positive reviews came both from national and international specialized magazines. This gave the opportunity to the band to play live in a lot of Italian shows, even supporting important foreign bands like Carcass and Uriah Heep.

2000 “UNDER A SPELL” produced by UNDERGROUND SYMPHONY

Under a Spell, produced by LAST WARNING and Maurizio Chiarello, who had already enclosed a song of the group in one of his compilations of heavy metal bands, was released by Undergrond Symphony. The album was recorded at the Zenith Recordings studio in Lucca by Frank Andiver, at that time drummer of Labyrinth and today producer and drummer of the Oracle Sun and mind of Wonderland. The work marks a major turning which directs the sound to a more celebral metal prog, following the footsteps of Dream Theater and Queensryche. It is a matter of fact that Under A Spell is an oneiric concept album that deals with the protagonist need to escape from a reality that he feels adverse to him. The songwriting has certainly matured since the very beginning. The resulting sound remains strong and heavy, integrated as it is with high effect acoustic moments and with the presence of the soprano voice of Isabella Comand, that deeply and wonderfully characterizes two songs.

2009 "THROUGHOUT TIME" - My Kingdom Music



After the releases of the albums From The Floor Of The Well (1995) and Under A Spell (2000), cds that gave great satisfactions to the band, Last Warning are now presenting their third album. Throughout Time has been produced after two important changes of the line up (voice and drums).This slowed down a bit the work of the band, but it never discouraged the group, that, with the two new great entries, found a very special feeling, that contributed very much to the creation of this album. The cd was skilfully recorded and mixed by Frank Andiver (Oracle Sun, Wonderland, ex Labirinth) at Zenith Studios (Lucca, Italy). At the Angel Wings Studios in Udine were instead recorded the drums, while the guitar solos and the pre-production were done at the Emerald Studios in Pordenone. The album presents the typical Last Warning sound: a mix of power, technique and great melodies, combined by the band with taste and intelligence. Some influences, which are typical of the prog metal, together with shades coming from the 70’s and the 80’s (the echoes of different bands like Queensryche, Fates Warning, Dream Theater, Rush, Iron Maiden, Pink Floyd are part of the background of the band) are also present. Nevertheless the personal style of the group comes out from every note. Throughout time is definitively the best and mature cd ever produced by Last Warning and the band is quite sure to have done a good job. All the backing vocals on the album are by Fabio D’Amore, producer of the Emerald Studios. He also carried out the editing and cooperated with the artistic production of the album. In the song “In the Flood” we find two special guests. Laura Ivan and Caramelo Rejes. The marvellous voice of Laura and the warm touch of the Flamenco guitar give a magical atmosphere to this track. The last song of the tracklist, ”Cry Out”, comes straight from the Last Warning beginnings. The band, pushed by the numerous requests from its fans, decided to rearrange the song, and to insert it as a bonus track, maintaing all its energy but giving it a more modern touch. “Bloody Dream” comes out from the homonymous demo dated 1992. Never inserted in the other albums, the song was rewritten with a definitely better result than the previous one, but the modern riff, almost new metal, from the original version that has always characterized it, remains untouched.
